Fanart - Yoshitaka
Amano Tribute
Born in Shizuoka City, Japan Yoshitaka Amano has inspired millions
with his vivid and lurid imagination and highly unique art style.
He began his career in 1967 working on character development for
popular Japanese anime series. His most famous works at the time
were Gatchaman (G-Force), The Adventures of Hutch, the Honeybee
and The Time Bokan series. Slowly he began working his way onto
magazine covers and doing freelance fantasy artwork.
In 1984 his first art book, Maten (Evil Universe), was printed.
Contained in its pages was a rich collection of Amano's pen and
ink sketches, acrylics, and watercolors. His next publication was
Genmuku (Castle of Illusions) that featured early storyboards for
the anime Angel's Egg and the classic Vampire Hunter D.
It wasn't until 1987 that he began his career working as a character
designer for the Final Fantasy series. Since then, he has worked
on artwork for all Final Fantasy games, ranging from FFI through
to FFXII.
