Final Fantasy 90210 Fan Fiction Title: Two Boys for Every Girl by Cupid De Locke Date: 1:26 PM 5/20/00 ==================================================== =============================================********** ******************************************************************* ********************===================================== ==================================================== ======== Previously on FINAL FANTASY 90210, Sephiroth bought tickets for a trip around the country and asked Cloud Strife to come with him. Cid Highwind found out and asked Cloud Strife to marry him. And now, this week's episode of FINAL FANTASY 90210. "We can't get married right away, of course," Cid Highwind explained. "But maybe after we finish college, get steady jobs, then we can have the biggest, best wedding since Chuck and Di." "This is so overwhelming," Cloud Strife said softly. "I need time to decide." "OK. You can have all the time you need. Just one thing - if you say yes, you can't go away with Sephiroth." "You know about that?" "Clarisse told me." Cid Highwind and Cloud Strife turned around to face the imposing figure of Lincoln. "I wonder if Abe had this many problems getting Mary Todd to say yes," Cid Highwind said, smiling weakly. "I wonder if Mary Todd was ever chased by two guys at the same time," Cloud Strife pondered. "Probably. They say she was a real babe," Cid Highwind replied, loosening up a little. Cloud Strife giggled. "You know what I want more than anything right now? I don't want to think about trips or rings or marriage or spring break. I just want somebody to hold me and kiss me." "I can do that. I can do that!" Cid Highwind said with glee. And then he did. After getting back home, Cloud Strife called Aeris Gainsborough and told her to come over. While she was waiting, she dialed her sister Barret Wallace in Beverly Hills. "Hello?" Barret Wallace's voice said. "Hi. I'm in *big* trouble now," Cloud Strife said. "What'd you do this time? They turn down your credit card?" "If only it were that simple." "Uh oh. It must be guy trouble." "Guy troubles - plural. Sephiroth asked me to take a romantic trip around the country with him." "Hmmm, sounds vaguely familiar." "There's more. Clarisse told Cid Highwind, and he asked me to marry him!" "Congratulations! Tell me about the ring - do you think he spent the recommended two months' salary on it?" Cloud Strife was staring at the ring and the tickets. She put the ring on. A perfect fit. And she had to say that it looked really, really good on her. "You know how much waiters at greasy spoons make. I'd say this one is at *least* a six monther." "My God! Marry him this *instant*!!" "It's so complicated, Kel. I love 'em both in different ways. Cid Highwind is so steady; he's like a rock. And Sephiroth's kisses just sweep me off my feet. I'm only 18, and I think I'm too young to be making a decision like this." "Well, the guy that puts words in my mouth told me to tell you that you're going to have to decide. And soon. He said he wasn't going to let you cop out and choose me like I did." "Did he say who I should choose?" "Nope. Said he didn't want to give out any SPOILERS." "What do *you* think?" "I think you should follow your heart. It'll never lead you wrong." "But following my heart is what got me here in the first place!" "See what I mean?! Oh, gotta run; Tom's coming over." "Tom? Who's Tom?" "He's Valerie's old boyfriend back when they were in high school in snowy old Buffalo. But now he's here, and he's mine, mine, mine!" "You're not planning to do anything stupid, like sleep with him to spite Val." "Bye, sis." Meanwhile, Cid Highwind went out to Sephiroth's house for a confrontation. "How DARE you put the moves on my girlfriend!!" Cid Highwind shouted as he went inside. "Girlfriend. Hold up. Let's get one thing straight. YOU were the one that said she could see other people. She chose me. What can I say? We're soulmates." "Soulmates, huh? Is that the pickup line you use these days, Vincent Valentine? 'cause I don't believe that seminal link crap for a second. And I don't know *how* you got her to believe it." "Like I said, we're soulmates. We're supposed to understand things the rest of the world wouldn't understand." "Well, I gave her a ring. Everybody understands that, except maybe you. We're gonna get married. All she has to do is say yes." "Has she done it yet?" "No, not yet." Sephiroth and Cid Highwind glared at each other for a second. "One piece of advice, Iowa," Sephiroth said snidely. "Don't book the chapel." Cid Highwind was retreating out the door. "Fine! And you'd better check to make sure those tickets are refundable." "Fine!" "Fine!" Cid Highwind slammed the door behind him. Across town, Aeris Gainsborough and Cloud Strife were discussing the day's developments. "Lemme see!" Aeris Gainsborough asked excitedly. Cloud Strife presented her hand so Aeris Gainsborough could have a closer look at the ring Cid Highwind gave her. "Oooooooh! It's so beautiful" Aeris Gainsborough cried. "And you're thinking about turning him down??" "I'm so young! I haven't dated many guys, and I haven't slept with any!" "I haven't slept with any either, but if I guy like Cid Highwind asked me to marry him, I'd say yes sooooo fast." "I dunno. I just don't know." "Just follow your heart." "That's what my sister said!" "It's good advice. That's what me and Jamie Ray are doing." Cloud Strife noticed a slight discoloration on Aeris Gainsborough's left cheek. A bruise perhaps? "What's that?" Aeris Gainsborough covered it up quickly. "Uh, it's nothing," she said tersely. "I ran into the doors at the mall." "Oh." "I've gotta get home. Good luck." "Yeah. See ya." Since it was time for her to go to bed too, Cloud Strife took one last look at the tickets and the ring, and tucked both under her pillow. The next day, Cloud Strife drifted through the park hoping to find a solution to her dilemma. She found a disheveled, tiny young lady crying on a park bench. Cloud Strife went over to her. "What's wrong?" "I used to be a world class gymnast," she squealed in a squeaky voice. "But I broke my ankle, and my coach kicked me out of his house. And I don't have any relatives, no home, no money. Just me and my duffel bag." "Boy, I thought I had problems," Cloud Strife explained sympathetically. "Two guys are after me - one wants to marry me, and one wants to take me on a romantic trip." Cloud Strife looked into the lady's sad eyes and found pain and heartbreak - and hope, not only for her, but for herself. "I think we can squeeze you in the guest room at our place." The lady perked up considerably. "Really??" "I'll have to clear it with my host parents first, but they're cool." "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!" "I'm Cloud Strife Taylor, by the way." "Red XIII. Red XIII Sparks. Pleased to meet you." "Same here." Red XIII gave a mischievous smirk to nobody in particular.
