"Drops of Heaven" By WTW & DMR Prologues by both authors DarkMageRessurection Ok, I know it goes ladies first, but since I have the lead in the story line, I'll start babbling. Now, the two of us, WTW and me sat down in a chatroom and agreed that we need to write an FanFic with five more whackos from FS, since we're in it for quite some time and have buddies and we have to add the 'stamp' of our madness in it, since we think it needs it. Now, I'll be the one to start off with the first chapter, so I want to ask for your understanding since this is gonna be my first public writing work. Ok, I feel the tense laying off, that's good. Well, there isn't much I wanna say cause I'm a silent guy. WTW Erm, is it my turn DMR? Ok. So, here I am again, with my babe, working on a story about us, the staff gang. It's about time I did this, now that I've quite studied each person's character and can predict some your reactions, something very useful for the things in my story. After all, I love you all so much, and especially those participating in the story, that I really wished to give you all something to remember me as a staff member and not just as a writer. So I thought of the story with DMR's help, and with your help, we'll pull it off. Thank you all very much for your support and your friendship, even if you don't know me. Introduction (DMR) Place: Fantasysquare HQ, Fantasy Tower. Top floor, FS Common room and Café-bar. Time: 23: 55 Date: 08/07/2002 Weather: Thunderstorm, Windy The FS common room was quiet, as quiet as is usually was with everyone chattering about or just hanging about. The staff members were sitting around the comfy sofas and armchairs around the flickering fireplace. "Man, I'm bored." Zell said, looking at the thunderstorm outside. "Yeah, too bad there's this storm. We could all go out." Norco sighed. "Well, we can't change the weather I'm afraid…" WTW sighed back and turned the page of the book she was reading, sitting on a chair by the fireplace. DarkMageRessurection came by. He was allowed closer by the staff, due to his connection with WTW and the fact he was a closer buddy than other guests. He put his hands in his pockets and looked out of the window. "This weather is really getting me down…" he said, and his voice rang slightly Italian. "I wish something would just happen…" Dreamspell said. "Like what? Brad Pitt barging in naked? Haha…" Zell teased her. Dreamspell gave Zell an ironic look. "Maybe, but I was thinking about the rain stopping and all of us just going out." She said. "Me too, but I'd rather meditate…" KAMIKAZE answered and rose from his chair. He went near DMR. "Weird weather for a summer night, huh?" "Yeah, sure is. I mean, a thunderstorm?!" DMR said. WTW suddenly looked up at the clock. "I have a premonition…" The clock stroke midnight. "M-me too…" Dreamspell stuttered and a shiver went up and down her backbone. Just then, the lights went out. "Eeeeek!" someone shrieked. "Hey! Hey! Calm down everyone! It's just a power failure!" Norco shouted out. "Stay where you are! I'll go see Tim!" KAMIKAZE said. Just as he was about to go to the door, it banged open and Tim barged in, panting and his eyes peeled open. The lights came up. "Tim! What's up man?!" Zell asked. "(gasp)…Ling…she's…gone…game…enemy…help…" he said and fell flat in DMR arms. "Get a chair." He said. Zell brought an armchair and Norco helped DMR sit Tim there. WTW brought some smelling salts from the first aid box. She had Tim take a few deep breaths, until he calmed down a little. "Tim, what happened?" Norco asked him. Everyone else in the room had gathered near them. "Ling and I were in the game room, trying that new, virtual Final Fantasy edition they send us. And, and…you won't believe me but…Ling fell flat on the floor! She was cold…she was unconscious!" Tim said. "Let's go see her!" Dreamspell said. "Wait!" Tim said. "T-there's nothing we can do. Listen, this is spooky. I took off the headgear to check on her, when the screen went black and a message appeared on screen. It said: 'Time's up Tim! She's in the game! Do you dare come save her!? HAHAHAHAH!!!!'" "Holy shit!!!" DMR said. "Who could have done this?!" "I suppose one of our archenemies." KAMIKAZE said skeptical. "There was a following message. It said I should pick six more party members and enter the game to get her. We'd have to lose our human characteristics and become part of the game in order to survive in it, and get Ling back." Tim said. "My God…whoever it was, it wants you to REALLY play the game!!" Zell said. "What'll we do now?" Dreamspell said. "I'll tell you what we'll do!" DMR said. "We'll act. If 'he' wants us to play the game, we'll play it. Tim, I'm sure you're gonna go get her. Well, I'm coming with you. If that guy could do that to Ling, what stops him from doing it to other people as well?" "DMR is right. I'm gonna follow you too!" WTW said. "Where are you going sis without me!?" Dreamspell said and passed her arm over WTW's shoulder. "I'm in! I'm in! I know this is nuts, and that it'll be more than a game, but what the hell, I'm in!" Zell said. "Don't you dare go anywhere without your 'hacker' and Fire-Knight Tim!" KAMIKAZE said. "Hey, hey, hey! Wait for me!!" Norco said. The seven people were gathered. They looked at each other, and the rest looked at them seven. "Let's go." Tim said, encouraged by the others' enthusiasm. This time, it was no ordinary game. They knew it well. Blood might stain their hands, and fear may scar them, but they'd prove it, to themselves and the world, they weren't just players; they were survivors. Tim led the other six in the game room. Ling's unconscious body lay on the floor. WTW and Dreamspell laid her on the couch and put a blanket over her. "Her temperature has drooped, but her breath is still stable, and her pulse normal. I think she'll be ok while we're away." WTW said. "Hey, how d'you know so much 'bout medicine?" Norco asked her. "Oh, I just took some basic first aid courses in school…" she replied, shaking her shoulders. Tim lift up a headgear. "I get the feeling he's waiting for us. I wonder what'll we face?" he said. "Tim, don't worry, we'll be behind you all the way." DMR said. "Yeah, after all, we're staff, and your buddies too!" Zell said. "Thanks guys." Tim said. They all went close, and Tim gave each a headgear. "Umh…I'm not sure what we'll do, or where we'll find ourselves in the game, but I'm sure we won't be 'us'. We'll be the characters. I don't even know the plot, or what we're supposed to do…" Tim said. "Hey, Tim! It's not the first time you'll play a game with no cheats, am I right?" Norco asked him. "…Yeah, you're right…" They wore the headgear. Immediately, a voice boomed in their heads. "HAHAHAHAHAHA! So, you dare take my challenge! Great, great…we'll have a hell of a time! Prepare to die! All of you! Die in a game you'll love till death!…" "I'm not afraid of you!" Tim yelled back. A warp of colors invaded each's mind. Their souls left their bodies, and entered the game. Seven soft thumps were heard as the seven FS members fell on the thick carpet, out cold like Ling. PART I (DMR) Timothy Dasher: Webmaster 'Tim' Sharp PLD 45: Zell Princess Akira: Mint 'Ling' Timothy Dasher woke up by his robot's alarm. He jumped up in bed from surprise. The robot's alarm was a shriek, recorded from some horror movie he'd seen months ago. Timothy fell off the bed, bang on the wooden floor. "Ouch! Geez Sharp, must you do that?!" he shouted. "I tried to wake you up softly, but you sleep too heavily." The robot replied. Timothy grumbled, and staggered to the bathroom. He was tall and muscular, with jet- black hair with a white strand on the left side of the head, and black eyes, slightly oriental. Sharp prepared his clothing while Timothy took his morning shower. Sharp was a PLD 45 model, and his character was actually the brain of Timothy's old friend and comrade, Sharp Passero. When Sharp died suddenly in battle, Timothy digitalized his brain and added him as personality to the robot. So, Sharp lived on as a robot. He was made of shiny metal, with a cylinder body that was airborne thanks to an anti-gravity device and with two rather short hands. Timothy came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. "Timothy, are you gonna go see Sage Raikoto today?" Sharp asked him. "Yes. I hope he knows what must be done about her Highness, Princess Akira." Timothy replied. Princess Akira…the beginning and the end of this story. It was only three days ago when she fell unconscious in the gardens, after seeing a black smoke come out of a well. She fell in Timothy's arms, which never was away from her when she moved around in public or around the palace, as her bodyguard. That black smoke had disappeared when she fell, and she was immediately taken to her quarters. The palace's doctor had come over, and he said this wasn't a physical illness, but a spiritual one, so Sage Raikoto, the oldest and wisest Sage of the country had been summoned to help. Sage had remained in Princess Akira's quarters to meditate, and examine her. Timothy had decided to do all it took to help the Princess recover. He was her bodyguard, and had given an oath to protect her. But, there was also another reason. Timothy was in love with Akira; not the Princess, but the Akira he remembered from his childhood, when they were both growing up in palace. Timothy had been raised in the palace. He was a nobleman, but his family had been pushed aside from more powerful families. As children, Timothy and Akira used to play together, along with other children that grew up in the palace. Timothy would always let Akira win in a game, and would always want to be on her team. She had the prettiest voice and smile in the whole kingdom, and Timothy had loved her from childhood. In his adolescence, he had to join the army, but he never forgot her. When he returned seven years later as an elite, and chosen as her bodyguard, Akira had became Princess, and ruled her father's kingdom. She had also grown up, and became even more beautiful, but now they walked on different paths of life. Timothy had never confessed his love, and Akira had never showed any feelings further than friendship. She still talked to him, and sometimes played chess with him, but rarely was Timothy allowed to be close to her. So, he was just her bodyguard, and nothing could change that. But now, she was in need of him more than ever, and Timothy had decided to do anything for her. He put on his clothes, a dark blue sweater with turn-neck and a pair of black jean trousers. He also wore black Doc Martens boots, and a` heavy, brown belt, where he put his big two-hand sword, named the Berserker. The Berserker was an ancient sword, passed down to Timothy from his ancestors. It was enchanted, and a she-elf, Garusha lived in it. She's usually asleep, but Timothy can wake her up for help with his magic fluit, the Karahasane. The Karahasane was also given to him by his ancestors. It was a magic flute that played beautiful music, and could also wake up Garusha. On the other side of his belt, he put his whip, the Dragon Tail. Timothy knew it was an unusual weapon for a man, but he knew it's advantages, and was a master over it. It was made out of –what else?- dragon skin, and had cost Timothy a bitter price to buy it. He walked out of his quarters with Sharp following him. He had an easy, neat walk, and he looked straight ahead of him. He went to the room that had been given to the Sage, and knocked the door. "Come in." Sage said with a deep, heavy voice. Timothy gulped, and went in. He bowed once he faced the Sage. "Sir, I'd like to ask about…" "Princess Akira? Yes, I know. Please, sit down." The Sage said. Timothy obeyed. He sat down on his knees. "I know your mind asks about her. I will tell you. It is the corruption within the palace that has made the Princes ill. The cruelty and the grudgeless of some people in here have brought a demon back from his eternal sleep. He has possessed the Princess to draw her power, and then release his own. I am afraid the Princess will die." Timothy jumped up. "I won't allow that! Tell me what is to be done, and I will do it!" The Sage looked at him, and Sharp. "Are you willing to? Are you willing to do anything to save your Princess? Are you willing to travel to the end of the world to find the cure?" "Yes, I am." "Then listen to me Timothy." –Timothy was too fired up to even wonder how the Sage knew his name- "The only thing that can save her is the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail possessed powers of great importance, and powers of curing. Only it can save the Princess." "Where can I find it?!" The Sage shook his head sadly. "I'm afraid I do not know. But, there is someone who might know. It is a fortune-teller in the Lantidy Circus. She is old and wise, and her methods are precise and might know about it. If not, she will surely know someone who will know. Go and ask her. She will tell you where the Holy Grail is." "I'll do that Sage. Please, tell no one about my departure, there are people who want the Princess' harm. Please protect her while I will be away, to look for the Holy Grail." The Sage nodded. "I will protect the Princess. Go now, before someone sees you." Timothy darted out with Sharp running behind him. "Sharp, you stay here, and…" "OH NO! I'm coming with you! With such a numbskull you are, you'll need some one to get you back on track! I'm coming with you. You'll meet battles, and Sharp PLD 45 ain't missing' a good battle." Timothy stooped and looked at the robot. "Besides, who are you gonna talk to if I'm not around." Sharp said. Timothy giggled, and they headed for Timothy's quarters again. He took some equipment he might need, and some other gear and headed for the stables. Timothy got on a Chocobo, and left the Palace. They went through the city, and after asking where the Lantidy Circus was; he went out of the city walls. Sharp had no problem following Timothy, hovering around him. "Say, have you considered at all the difficulty of this task?" Sharp asked, as he had wished to ask since Timothy got all fired up and accepted to go looking for the Holy Grail. "Yes, but I don't care; if Princess Akira is in danger, it's my duty to help her. I've given an oath to protect her, and I'm going to keep it." Timothy replied. "But, I really appreciate you coming with me Sharp. Thanks." "Don't think I do it because I'm in for adventures or anything; I just have to keep an eye on you, because somehow you always get your tail in trouble." Sharp replied bitterly. Timothy smiled and didn't reply. He knew Sharp often complained all the time and didn't lose an op
