Dark Revealations by Nida Chapter 5 "I see sir and how can I help you asked?" asked Vincent politely. "Y'see we built a new reactor in a place called corel. The locals are now trying to sell land to us that we need as bizarely high prices. What should we do?" questioned Heidegger. "We could burn the town to the ground and say it was because the people attacked the reactor." "And what if the townspeople got their story out?" "Leave no survivors." "Excellent," said Scarlet who just joined in the conversation," I will leave tomorrow for Corel with some troops!" " You have the makings of a remarkable leader Valentine. But before I promote you to head of the Turks you must first prove yourself," said Heidegger. " And how can I do that?" " We're having trouble with a new Shinra executive," said Scarlet as shue sipped from a glass of champagne," his name's Reeve, he's investigating corruption within shinra, we need you to "convince" him there's nothing worth investigating..... * * * * * * * * * * Everyone was silent as they looked at Barret. He brandished his missing score and loaded it. But Cloud stood in his way and commanded him not to touch Vincent until his story was complete. "Vincent," said Tifa," are these your real sins, are these atrocities why you shut yourself away for so long". "They're only a part of it," said Vincent," the real reason is much worse, but we'll come to that later.... * * * * * * * * * * Vincent jumped down the shaft and landed on top of the moving train. It was two days after the party and it was also the day Heidegger chose for him to "prove" himself. The wind hit him in the face as he hurdled down the dark tunnel. He crawled along the roof of the train his navy blue Turk uniform being overed in dirt. Then he reached it. The box that gave power to the train. He yanked it open and ripped out a handfull of wires. At once the train stopped. He then slid down into the carriage that contained his victim. Reeve glanced around the carriage. It was almost total darkness. The only light was coming from the emergency lighting outside the train. Then he saw a shadow emerge in front of him. "Don't make a sound or I'll blow your brains out," said the shadow," ok I'll this simple, you're to stop your investigations into corruption imediately." "And if I don't?" " Your wife Carrie and that daughter yours might have a little "accident","said the figure. "You're also going to let me into the top secret Shinra archive tomorrow, and now one is to ever hear of our lttle encounter". "OK.... j.. just don't hurt Carrie or Ruth...." "They wont come to any harm if you play by the rules." With that Vincent took off out the train door and down the tracks. Five minutes later the lights went back on and the train continued it's journey. It was 10:30 pm the next day and Reeve was still shivering from the train incident. He was standing in the freezing cold outside the Shinra building. The hole place was closed and he'd have to use his card key to get in the back way. Then he saw the figure moving towards him. He could tell it was the same guy from the train. As the figure stepped under the lamplight Reeve saw the man had a kierchief covering his mouth. Take me to the war files the man told him. "Yes... of.. okay," replied Reeve. The two of them hurried up the back staircase in case they were seen by any of the security guards. After about 60 flights of stairs Reeve had to use his card key to get into the lift. He pressed the button for the library floor. "Who.. who are you?" asked Reeve. "I'll ask the questions you just shut up," replied Vincent. They then reached the library and Vincent walked straight into the military room. He walked over the file on the war and started to alter history.... * * * * * * * * * * * Chapter 5 complete.
