“Haste”
- Part 2 -

The ground was shaking, and the tremors were increasing as the moments 
passed.
Laguna breathed hard as he said a prayer to Cecil. Cold sweat was falling. 
He held on
to Raine's hands even tighter.

"BAMMMM!!!"

A loud explosion hit the eastern wing of Lv 1, causing debris comprising of 
sand, gravel
and burning titanium swirling towards to interior of the prison, causing 
soldiers to fly
about everywhere. The ground was shaking even harder than before.

"KA-BARRRMM!!"

A hot napalm landed at Lv 7, and the tower was caught on fire. Gunshots were 
heard
and the building was falling apart. Laguna carried Raine is his arms and 
moved
downstairs from the platform he was on.

"We need to move to lower ground, Raine, " breathed Laguna and he slowly 
took a few
steps down the aisle.

One of the pillars from Lv 7 suddenly gave way and crashed onto Lv 6 and 
broken down
to Lv 5, leaving the entire 10 levels of the prison suspended between the 
5-6 levels.

"We have at most 5 minutes before the entire building collapses, and they 
are still
soldiers guarding the remaining parts of Lv 1, " Laguna explained.

"Dear, please go without me... I'll only slow you down, " Raine replied with 
her soft,
weak voice.
"I'll rather die here than to leave you alone. We're getting out of this 
damn thing,
together, " said Laguna, as he increased his pace down the aisle.

"BBBOOOOOOOOMMMM!"

A herd of chocobo's came crashing through the damaged north entrance of Lv 
1. There
were no less than 200 chocobo's charging through the prison, trampling over 
everything
in path. Raine saw a few unlucky soldiers got caught in the herd and she 
closed her
eyes. The evil stench of blood was reeking over the place.

The chocobo's were heading towards the south exit of the prison, weakening 
the
structure of the tower even more.

"Here's our chance, " breathed Laguna.

He caught a glimpse of Kaloos out from the window from where he was hiding. 
He gave
an evil grin.

"That bastard's overdoing it. He's going to kill me if this continues. "

"Lagu...."

Laguna immediately turned his head to look at Raine and she closed her eyes. 
She had
passed out.

"Damn, she has lost too much blood, where are my phoenix down's?"

He realised his backpack was in Cell 512, up at Lv 5. And Lv 5 was a burning 
hell. He
calculated that if he were to rush out now, even Kaloos might not have some 
with him,
and the nearest town is 2 hours trip, even by a Hum Vee going at 80 miles 
per hour.

Another pillar from Lv 6 fell and crashed to Lv 1, and the pillar broken 
into a million
pieces, cutting through the remaining soldiers' armour. Some fell on the 
ground,
instantly dead. The stench of death was getting stronger.

Laguna then left Raine beside the windowpane, somewhere above Lv 1, at a 
safe spot.
He landed a kiss on Raine's forehead before he turned away.

"I have to get my backpack, or Raine will die from exhaustion, " he said to 
himself.
"Remember, you have 5 minutes to get in and out, or it's a direct trip to 
hell. "

He rushed up the stairs, praying to Cecil again.

"Kamisama, please give me more time."

The sound of chocobos were fading, and the sound of fire was rising.
