It's based after the whole Ultimecia thing. Galbadian's Dark Moon (title) <---SCENE ONE (The End Of The Beggining) ---> Squall leapt back, Seifer's Gunblade curving an arc through the air, leaving a wall of fire. Squall summoned a Thundaga spell in between the two SeeD's. It was a little too close to Squall though, and they were both thrown back. "I think that'll do" said Seifer, brushing the dirt of his just washed trechcoat. "Yeah, I'd say so too-"began Squall, but he was cut short, as over his speech Balamb Gardens PA system blared "Would the following SeeDs come to Headmaster Cid's Office: Squall Leonhart, Irvine Kineas, Selphie Tilmet and Zell Dinct." "Wonder what that's about? We were only there an hour ago" asked Squall. "Beats me, I wonder why I wasn't called" was the only answer he got. It was Rinoa, closely followed by Selphie, Fujin and Rajin. "HURRY! AS IN GET TO CID'S OFFICE NOW!" yelled Fujin. Rajin began "Yeah, it's pretty important ya know? Apparently Trabia Gardens been-" but Selphie began to explain instead. "Squall, you better get up to the bridge, Nida just got an urgent call from Trabia Garden, or what's left of it." Rinoa gave Squall a searching look. "You-your not trying to tell us. . ." stammered Seifer. "Yes, Trabia Garden has again been attacked" Another announcement came over the PA-"All spare hands muster Quad, Ceremonial uniforms to be worn" "Yeah, and you wanna know what? Same with Esthar, Galbadia and Timber." Rinoa said, tears flooding down her cheeks, she turned and ran. Into a T-Rexaur. <---SCENE TWO (No Trust, No Pain) ---> "As you may know, there have been numerous Virus bombs sent to Esthar. These bombs have infected everything we have tried to keep- people, animals, plants, and even Esthar's Security Systems. This also includes Ragnarok-class airships, and that is why your Ragnarok Squall, Griever II, must be destroyed." Squall was in the 2nd floor classroom. The classroom was almost full, sitting at desks were Squall, Seifer, Selphie, Zell, Irvine, Edea, Fujin, Rajin and Ward. Kiros was at the front of the classroom, informing the SeeD's and so of the situation. Quistis was on a mission for Garden, none of the SeeD's knew what she was doing. Rinoa was in the Infirmary, recovering form her T-Rexaur wounds. "No-one told me of these bombs, why not?" At this, everyone went quiet. "Well . . . we . . . uh, well . . ."tried Zell, with some difficulty finding words. "Squall, I'm afraid we can't tell you at the moment, can you ! please try to concentrate on what's going on outside of your own relationships? Thankyou" That was Kiros for you, always straight to the point. "Presindent Laguna will be arriving shortly, if He is not here already. but before he comes up here, he will be attending a short arrival ceremony." "What are we doing in here? I thought we were called to Cid's old office?"asked Zell. "Well, I find it obvious that we can't all fit inside Cid's office, nor the bridge. There are no Ragnarok's worthy of flight, and there seemed to be no other appropriate place for the meeting." Squall had other things on his mind. For one thing, his ship, Griever II, would have to be destroyed. Griever II was Squalls pride and joy, nothing was better to Squall than to sit in the Ragnarok and feel the air rushing through his long black hair. Not just the Ragnarok though, three of the worlds largest cities had been attacked; Esthar, Galbadia and Timber. Squall had always enjoyed these cities, Esthar in particu! lar. At that moment, Laguna entered the classroom. He looked stressed, but sat on the front desk casually. Squall was always a little jealous of Laguna's laid back style, the way everything was good and if somehting happened, then it could be fixed, no big problems. Squall could never see how that worked. "Okey Dokey. Now Kiros has probably told you all, but for those who don't know, (Xu enters) Esthar, Galbadia and Timber have been bombed, same with Trabia Garden. Now, there's no causualty count been taken yet, but we estimate the number of deaths are in the thousands. That's not just to mention the damage that's been done to the architecture. There's an estimated 700 000 000 000 000gil damage bill. And that's an estimate." At that moment there was an explosion, and everything went black. When Squall came to, he thought he could see the face of his mother. His eyes went blury, and he said griefly "Mum?" A soft voice answered "No Squall, it's me, Matron. You've been asleep for 2 months." "W-what? , but wasn't there just a bomb or something? Where am I? Where's Xu?" "Squall, relax, let me answer the questions. Balamb Garden was attacked by a radio missile. I will explain what a radio missile is later. You are here at home, in your home near the lighthouse. And who is Xu?" Radio missile? Who is Xu? What are these things? WHERE IS XU!? "Squall, are you alright? Your face is all grey . . ." <---SCENE THREE (Confrontation) ---> When Squall came to, he had trouble seeing. It was dark, and an eerie glow was cast through the room by flamming torches. The room was simple really. All it contained was the bed he was in, a corner desk and a chest at the foot of the bed. The chest was long and silver. Squall clambered out of bed but collapsed onto the floor. It had been a while since he had last walked. So instead of trying to walk again, Squall crawled over to the mysterious chest. There were only two simple latches, no lock, no key. He opened both of the latches at the same time, with the flick-thud sound that was familiar. Inside was a lond sword with a gun on the end. It was the grey metal colour common to the weapon that both Squall and Seifer used. Squall lifted out the Gunblade and whispered, "Griever, you've been with me always, and we'll stay that way forever." Squall was pleased to find that his Griever neckchain was still around his neck. He place! d the Gunblade on the bed and stumbled to the door. Outside it was pitch-black. He turned right and headed to the main house. Inside was not much different from how he remembered it. He walked into Matron's room, to find her peacefully asleep with Cid. He shut the door and walked quietly out. He found a pen and some paper, and left a message that he would soon return, for he had seen a sight outside which shocked him. He left the note on the table and headed outside to the strange looking airship. The Griever II looked exactaly how it was before the attacks. It responded to his voice and opened the main entry doors. Squall made his way to the bridge, knowing what he had to do. He shut the main door for two reasons: one he didn't want any monsters bothering him, and two, well, it was just damn cold. After he shut the door, he charged up the Ragnarok ships energy solar cells. There was more stored energy stored than had ever been before, so that wasn't a problem. The next thing Squall did was radio for any sign of life. There was no answer, just a fuzzy noise that sounded unmistakibly like the music from when matron was possessed and became President of Dollet. He had no idea of what to do. It was night time, he was inside a locked airship and was alone in the world as far as he knew, except for two people who were asleep. He did what seemed the only thing to do- he opened the door of the airship and ran inside to wake up! Matron and Cid. They woke up grumpily, not knowing what was going on, but as soon as they saw that Squall had come to, they seemed to loose they're sleepyness. "Quick, get up. Grab anything you can and get to the Airship." "But Squall-" Matron began, but Squall cut her short "There's something falling from the sky! We've got to get out of here!" "Then forget the stuff," said Cid"I'm outta here" "Yes, lets hurry" said Matron. The party ran to the airship, the doors opening on Squall's command. The doors slammed shut behind them, and Squall led them to the bridge. He jumped to the cockpit and fired up the solar engines. They roared to life, and Squall yelled "HOLD ON!" The Ragnarok shot of at the speed of a bullet, Cid being thrown back like a doll. One moment later there was an enourmous ball of fire, where Cid and Matron's house once was. There was a cry of despair form Matron, and she too fell to the ground, as unconscious as Cid. 3 minutes later, Squall had parked Griever II in some mountains, thousands of miles away from the ruins of the house. he had carried Cid and Matron to the equipment section of the Airship, and had revived them with Curaga Spells. He explained his plan to Cid and Matron, and to his shock, they agreed. "Are you sure the Ragnarok is capable of Space travel still?" Cid was sceptic about the idea, but it sounded like the saf! est thing to do. "I haven't checked yet, but it's been in space before." "Squall, I think this is a good idea, but what about the world we're on now?" Matron asked. "I want to look around for any survivors. When I was last told, Dollet hadn't been attacked. Whoever, or whatever has been controlling these attacks is in Dollet, I think. I also want to look for Xu and my friends." "Ah, the name again, "said Matron slyly. "Yes, and who is this Xu girl Squall?" "Well, uh, she was, she is, just, uh, a friend." Squall stammered, cursing himself for sounding remarkably like Zell. "Okay, we'll let you go this time" said Matron with a smile. Cid gave Squall a wink, and Squall turned around, his face a deep red. "We have to get going soon, I don't want to be attacked again." He walked up to the bridge. <---SCENE FOUR (The Loss) ---> Griever II shot across the sky, and landed 3 miles away from Dollet. "We'd better go from foot from here on" Squall said over the microphone. Cid and Matron had recomended that they stay on a different part of the ship than Squall. Squall didn't believe this, he just thought it was an excuse to get away and do something else. He shuddered at the thought. Ten minutes later, Cid appeared at the bridge, hair ruffled, shirt untucked, fly undone. "I'm not going to ask what you've been doing. I said ten minutes ago, we're leaving Griver II here and going to Dollet by foot." "What's Griver II?" Cid asked stupidy. "It's the name of this ship. Where's Matron?" "Are you ready?" Matron had just come up the elevator. "Yeah, we're going by foot to Dollet, and we're leaving the ship here." The party left the ship just off a beach, and sped over the waves, ashore, on a Landing Craft not unlike the one Squall used on his SeeD exam. He had a feeling of De-ja-vu, but ignored it. They ran for the nearest cover, the broken and burnt out skeleton of AT-MO83624. Gunfire filled the air and Squall moved over to the centre of the destroyed tank. Loading his gunblade with shotgun shells, Squall peeked a look at the City. It looked the same, suprisingly, besides the fact th! at there were about seven men wearing strange clothes. Cid pulled out a pistol and Matron flexed her fingers. "There's seven of them, and three of us. Any ideas?" The other two shook their heads. Matron suddenly made a run for the City. Squall tried to look, but hid behind the tank, as he heard a womans scream rip the air. More gunfire followed, but no other noise could be heard. Squall felt rage and despair. There was no one else but him. He had never felt more alone in his life. He ran around the left side of the tank and used his gunblade as a rifle. He took out two of the remaining five troops. They was gunfire beside him as Cid shot the other three, and dived next Matrons limp body. She climbed up and brushed the sand off her dress. "But, you just . . ." "Ah, never forget your armour Squall, and a Reflect Spell here and there never goes amiss." Squall breathed a sigh of releif, and felt like a weight had been lifted off his back. They ran to the troops' transports, and climbed into a large blue tank-van looking car. Squall emptied the shells from his gunblade and put in some silver bullets in. There were several empty uniforms on the floor, Squall bent down and read a name tag as Cid started up the car. STRIFE the tag read, and on the back was SOLDIER. Must be a new military or something thought Squall, and sat in the back seat. Cid drove up the deathly quiet street. A Choco! bo appeared running beside the vechile. "Stop, I want to catch that Chocobo." Cid braked the car, almost sending Squall through the windscreen. He climbed out and the Chocobo knelt down, letting Squall on. "It's alright, I'm gunna go like this now" Squall said to Cid. The vechile rumbled to a start, and continued down the road. The Chocobo however had other ideas. It shot down the street, Squall hanging on for dear life. It shuddered as it slowed down, and Squall got off shakily, wobbling over to Cid who had stopped at the fountain. "What did you stop fo . . ." Cid had eight bullet wounds in his chest, thick blood pouring out. <---SCENE FIVE (Mourning) ---> Cid hadn't taken Matron's advice, for there was no armour equiped, and no Reflect Spells had been cast. Matron was nowhere to be seen. Why now? Squall thought disparingly. He knew he had to do somehting with Cid's body. He picked it up, and dragged it over to the fountain. He placed the body in, and bowed his head, only because it seemd the right thing to do. Squall turned away. The Chocobo came loyaly to his heels, but Squall didn't want to ride. "Sorry, I have to go, but not so fast." He turned and ran towards the old Communications Tower. The Galbadian Army had once tried to use this tower, and had succeeded, but SeeD had stalled them for a short time. The Comms. Tower had been used to transmit signals through a device called television. Squall ran up the hill, hoping that there wasn't any Annaconduars in season. As he reached the top of the hill, he could see that the Tower was heavilly guarded. The! re was about 50-70 SOLDIERS standind guard, and that was on the ground outside. He didn't want to think about how many would be inside. There was no way that Squall could get in, unless . . . Squall parked the Landing Craft inside the Ragnarok's Boat Deck and ran up to the bridge. Checked that he had power and enough energy to get the Rangnarok through. The pitch blacknedd didn't matter, because the Ragnarok's sensors picked up that Squall was correct- There was 65 men armed with weak powered weapons. These weapons would have no effect on the Ragnarok, so Squall flew at a low speed for the Ragnarok, but it was high speed at the same time, towards Dollet. There was a loud noise ringing in Squall's ears, and suddenly, a beam of light shot down right beside the Ragnarok. it was not safe to attack the Tower. Squall put two and two together as he increased to maximum speed. Dollet's Communications Tower was being used as a giant weapon, sending signals into space and the signals would be turned into energy, that was fired onto the world around. If the effect could destroy cities, and Gardens, then there was a good chance that the Ragnarok could be easily destroyed. Squall headed south, and as he passed a mountain, there suddenly was no mountain. a wall of fire blocked the rear. He was about to pass FH, but as suddenly, that was destroyed as well. He was blocked going fowards, he was blocked going backwards. There was no time to stop, even if the Ragnarok could take it, it would be destroyed before you can say 'Triple Triad'. Then Squall pulled the controls up. Gri! ver II shook with the pressure. Squall unbuckled his seatbelt and was thrown to the elevator. He made his way to the equipment room and suited himself into a space suit. The pressure was so strong, Squall went limp, and everything went black. When Squall came to, there was no world to be seen. The Ragnarok had switched to auto-pilot and landed on the Moon. The trouble was, Squall was awoken by continuos pounding of Monsters' feet on the Ragnarok. Squall groaned, and ran for the bridge. The Ship told him that there had been no damage to the body, however if the Ship did not take off within 48 hours, some of the stronger Monsters would penetrate the Ragnarok's armour. Squall had no intention of staying for 48 hours, he had the intention of leaving the Moon now. He fired the Ship up, and took off in the direction of the nearest space station.
