Liberi Fatali, part three: Chapter 7: Exquisite Execution. While Seifer drank the wine, he thought about what was to become of him, Zell and the others. "I gotta tell Squall that Zell's locked-up in here, I don't have a chance if I take on this bunch of morons by myself....." Seifer thought. "So tell me Seifer, you said there were others besides you and that Zell character." Cain said. "Well, I don't know them directly Cain.....Most of the time, they get in my way and annoy the hell out of me." Seifer replied. While talking, Seifer thought of a plan to alert Zell that he wasn't a traitor, but he was going to get him out of here. "I don't like him, but I never want to be stuck with this old fart for life." Seifer thought, sipping his wine. "Seifer, come with me, there's something I have in this tower that you might like." Cain said. Seifer followed Cain down another long hallway, there seemed to be death and decay everywhere, the halls were filled with the stench of decaying flesh. Cain opened a large door, which led into an arena of some sort. There were raised seats circling the arena floor, which was filled with bones and other things. Cain and Seifer sat down, Seifer took a look around the arena, most of the seats were filled with Cain's undead minions. But there was a young girl locked in a cage, trying to avoid the perverted corpses leering at her. Seifer saw Divedok tear a few limbs off the offending corpses and throwing them into the arena, "Even if I defeat Cain, how could I get past a limb-tearing muscle-head like Divedok? He would turn my Gunblade into a windchime!" Seifer thought. "Cain....What is this place?" Seifer asked. "This is known as 'The Pit', where violent bloodsports are held, and where the ones who defy me perish." Cain replied. Just then, a drumming sound was audible throughout the arena, and an old man dressed in rags was dragged to the centre of the arena-floor and chained in place. Cain smiled as the old man was chained to the floor. "You know this guy Cain?" Seifer asked. "Certainly!! He is Albrecht Winslow.....a member of some low-life resistance faction." Cain replied. Cain then stood-up and spoke through a mic. "Albrecht!! Good to see you!" Cain gloated. "Do you have any last words?" Cain asked. Divedok held a small mic to Albrecht's face. "Pl....Please, I mean you no harm, sire....I am only the mayor of one of the towns here!! I wasn't in any resistance faction!! I swear it!" Albrecht pleaded. Everyone in the arena laughed at Albrecht's helplessness. "You, sir...Are a liar!! Your little faction attacked my army last week in an attempt to free you!!" Cain replied. "Of course, my army slaughtered yours, and now....you must die!!" Cain added. "Please.....Hear me out Cain, you are a......" Albrecht started before Cain interrupted. "Divedok....Release the Behemoth!" Cain said. Just then, a gate opened and a hulking monster charged towards Albrecht and ripped him to pieces, his blood splattering on the walls of the arena. Everyone cheered as the monster ate what was left of Albrecht. "Cain, who is the girl in the cage?" Seifer asked. "Oh, that is Albrecht's daughter, Pai. It looks like she enjoyed that little peformance from her father!" Cain replied. "Do you mind if I ask her a few questions about the resistance?" Seifer asked. "No, not at all......I think she needs a little comforting, anyway." Cain replied. "Divedok, take Pai to her quarters....Seifer wants a few words with her." Cain said through the mic. Seifer stood-up in relief, thanking the lord he didn't have to watch another execution. Divedok led Pai and Seifer through the halls, giving any unconcious bodies a good kick on the way. "Who are you?" Pai asked. "None of your concern!!" Seifer sneered. Divedok opened the door to Pai's cell and threw her in, Seifer proudly walked in behind her. "Yell if you need anything." Divedok said, before closing the door and walking back to the arena. Chapter 8: Seifer's plan. "You another one of Cain's henchmen?! 'Cause if you are, I have no reason to talk to you.....You bastards just killed my only family!!" Pai yelled. "Keep it down, would you?" Seifer replied. "I'm not one of Cain's goons, I'm here to bust out someone." Seifer added. "You mean that mowhawked guy? Bit late for that......He was caught escaping and now he's gonna be executed." Pai replied. "How do you know this?" Seifer asked. "Heared it from Divedok." Pai replied. "Who are you anyway?" Pai asked. "The name's Seifer, and you're Pai, I'm guessing. "Yeah." Chapter 9 : Pai's plan While Seifer listened to Pai he cursed Zell's stupidness what the hell was he thinking !!!! that goddamn chicken - wuss Idiot !!!! If he had just stayed there things would have been a lot easier…how do you know that a voice in his head interrupted It might as well become easier Zell's a good fighter and can probably fight that behmoth creature… "Seifer you listening ?" Pai said a bit irritated . "Sorry I was thinking bout Zell" "Perhaps there's a way to save him…" "How ?" "Well my father was the head of an resistant group and he had found an old map of this castle and there's a lot of hidden doors and stuff, there's an hidden passage underneath the pit you can go up In one end, probably the one where you're friend will stand." "so we can go underneath the pit and then throw up some smokebombs… (a new sort from balamb It was used to look like real sand smoke for theatres and Seifer had planned to use them for a little trick on Zell)." "What's smoke bombs ? "Pai Interrupted. "It's a small ball if you remove a print It will give of a big cloud of smoke" "Oh I see…" "Anyways I'll go under there and get Zell out of here and…" "No Seifer. Pai said softly "I'll go." "And how do you plan to get out of here ? Seifer said a bit Irritated." "We are lucky there's another passage here In the wall that leads that way, you will be needed to distract Cain." Seifer thought about It, " "Alright I'll return to Cain and try to distract him and you'll get Zell outta here and try to get to the other guys out there and you'll take the Ragnarok and get outta this dimension" Seifer planned on. " "But Seifer you will need the locket that Cain Is wearing to get out of this dimension" "Wich one of them ? He has like a thousand. "the one that Is shaped like a dragon" "Ok I see" Then we will get on with our business You'll get Zell and I'll get the locket "somehow" he thought. Chapter 10 : A pocket - knife Squall and his friends where closing In on the structure that now seemed to be shaped like a castle (awfully alike Ultimecia's If not In shape In the mood It put them In) "Wonder If Zell and Seifer Is there" Squall said "Then there would be no castle left" Irvine said In a sarcastic tune that was unusual for him "Well we won't find out by standing here so let's move It" Squall said and everyone moved on. When they had walked for another 30 minuets they found something very worrying, Zell's pocket-knife. "Wonder what happened" Selphie whispered "The ones at the castle probably got him" Quistis said In a worried tune. "Alright this does not look good" Squall said also worried. They continued to approach the castle, slowly… Meanwhile "It's no Use" Kiros muttered "this Radio won't work no matter what" He leaned against a giant rock "……………………………………………." "I know you aren't supposed to give up hope but It's thrashed completely gone to hell !!! "easy Kiros The other's will come up with something" Laguna said, but even he looked a bit depressed. It started to rain and the thunder was going not far from there. "Come on let's go Inside" Laguna said. And they went Inside the wrecked Ragnarok. Chapter 11 : The passage, escape from the pit After Seifer had left Pai opened the small door that lead to the tunnel and got In the door closed behind her and she was In total darkness "If there's anything darker than Cain's souls that Is" She thought bitterly. She started to walk through the passage It didn't make many turns If you looked at the map and she had It printed Into her head walk by two other passages and then the first to the right and then you're there She thought very soon she was there she looked up through the pipe hole's bar she could hear the dead's body parts when they where throwed on the sandy ground by Divedok. Soon Zell would appear… Seifer had returned to the Pit he feelt like he would throw up If he had to See another execution and he could only hope that Zell would be the first In "Oh so you made It back In time" "Is something special going on ?" Seifer said and hoped that he sounded that he was really curious on what It was "You're 'friend' managed to escape the castle but the undead catched him, and now He's about to be executed" "About time !!!" Seifer said with what he hoped was a angry voice. Just then Zell came Onto the Arena Cain grabbed the mike, Seifer still didn't understand how the whole castle could be so old and still have such things as "microphones" and "electric chairs" "So Zell Dincht you're last moment has come" Is there anything you wish to say before you die ? Divedoke hold a microphone under Zell's mouth "Yes I have ! I hate you of my whole heart and, Seifer may you burn In Hell !!!" "Very well then It Is time, Seifer This Is mostly your foe do you wish to kill him yourself or shall I let the monster do It ? Seifer took the mic "Let the monster kill the bug, he Isn't worthy of my attention, besides It could be Interesting to see the bug getting "crushed" Seifer hoped that His lie was trustworthy. And The Bemoth was set loose… Pai was down In the pipe waiting for the right moment she heard the bemoth she took a deep breath, took up the bomb released the print and throwed It up between the bars, that Zell was standing on she flicked the switch that held It up and Zell come tumbling down "What the hell…!?!?!" "We got no time" Pai said and flicked the switch so the bar come back up "let's hurry" "I wish I could stay and kick that bastard Seifer's ass…" Zell muttered as they run down the passage towards the castle exit. "Actually you should thank him for helping you" Pai Said "that damn traitor !?!?!" "I'll tell you when we have gotten out of here" "I hope It's a damn good explanation you have then Zell muttered" Chapter 12 : escape from the Castle When the cloud of smoke appeared Seifer said "let's go" "hmm, I thought you'd wanted to see him dead" Cain responded "He Isn't worthy more attention than that" Seifer said In an uninterested voice. "Very well then, there Is still some places that I must show you, follow me". They walked past more corridors and rooms and other places and Cain explained things he had to know to become his knight. And suddenly they stopped In front of a door made In some sort of black stone that Seifer had never seen before. "this Is the residence of my goddess The Queen of darkness, follow me" And they stepped Into the chamber the darkness and the pure evil In there smashed right on Seifer like a hard hit It was so dark that you almost could touch It. "Do you feel her presence ?" "Yes" was the only thing he could reply with, then he suddenly realized that they hadn't closed the door behind them and still It was so dark… "I will let you swear you're undying faith In her later when you know enough" The walked out of the chamber and Seifer had never been so relived ever in his whole life. The next room was Cain's office. "This Is my office" was all Cain said, they stood silent for a moment, Cain walked over to one of the windows The room could have been a splendid room In a kings palace but when you looked closer the fire didn't warm those who where In the room and the paintings on the wall only pictured different ways of dying on. A sword caught Seifers attention It was made out of a dark metal It seemed "That Is my sword 'darkness'" Cain said with an unnatural smile. "Impressive" Seifer said. Cain suddenly laugh "Seifer you are I must say an terrific actor" Seifer just knew that he had gone very pale "I don't know what you are talking about" "Don't play stupid now Seifer, both you and I know that you're only Intention Is to help you're friends, to bad you would have made a good knight" As Cain spoke he walked closer "When did you find out ?" Seifer said In a chocked wisper" "The moment I saw you, my queen have been very generous" Seifer saw It as In slow-motion he saw the dragon shaped locket and thought "now or never" He reached out and grabbed the locket and snatched It of Cain and dashed off through the door he could hear Cains roar of anger but soon he's mind was busy on finding the way out witch he only had been explained (from Cain of course and how reliable could that be?) When Seifer had run through several staircases corridors and big rooms he encountered a BIG problem - Dukedok "shit !! damn I'm toasted !!!" Dukedok roared and run towards him it was a small passage no doors or anything, there was nowhere to run. Seifer pulled out his Gunblade and thought that It was to bad that the others never would get the locket, then everything went black… Seifer found himself being dragged through a dark passage "get up on you're feet" Pai said a bit Irritated "Pai !?!?!?" Seifer said In a confused voice. "Move It you damn lazyass !!!!!" another voice said Seifer found himself and got up and running on his own feet "Should have know, that you'd get Zell with you" he muttered and continued " Pai you know the way out ?" "Of course, do you have the locket ?" "Right here" "good now you all keep quiet and follow me" Pai Said And they kept on running especially since Seifer told them that Cain had found out and was probably after them. After a long run through a lot of tunnels and turns they where suddenly outside. Seifer climbed up a smaller rock to look around. "That way ! I can see them !" he said pointing east He climbed down and they hurried that way. Meanwhile Squall and Co. where wondering how they would get Into the castle and find Seifer and Zell when Selphie suddenly shouted "Hey !!! It's them !!! Seifer, Zell and one more !!!" Everybody turned around and saw them a few minutes later they where there they where all so out of breath they couldn't speak Seifer where the first "Nice to see you all this Is Pai and we should get out of here since we got that damn Cain after us and…" Seifer become very silence and turned around and backed a few steps They all looked up on the way there was a man that only could be Cain Chapter 13 : The final fight Cain came towards them he was wearing a armour and an impressive helmet that looked like a dragons head that covered the whole face "Seifer did you seriously believe that you could escape me with the locket ?" Seifers reply was to draw his weapon and so did the others, It was time for the final fight. Cain was outnumbered so they spread out trying to get behind his back. Cain swung 'darkness' to keep them on a safe distance he needed to get an equal number, he's touch only could make an enemy defenceless. He made a sudden jump and landed beside Rinoa touched her shoulder and whispered a pray to his dark queen Rinoa screamed In pain and fell down unconscious Squall screamed In anger and attacked Cain swung 'darkness' and for a moment they where looked In position but Cain had the bigger strength and throwed Squall to the ground and touched him and whispered 'midnight' Suddenly Squall felt that he couldn't see or move, It was like a giant hand pressing him down. Irvine. Shoot with his extexter, but Cain was prepared he once Seeked aid within his queen and whispered the word 'return' and the bullet swung around and returned right into the gun a big explosion erupted when the bullet smashed Into the gun and everyone was throwed off the ground. Through the smoke Cain could See Seifer come towards him, and smirked he had a special curse just for him… The Dark queen had been watching the fight against her warrior when she suddenly could see something by the horizon, a great warrior In a shining armour walked towards her the White Warrior her archenemy, she had not expected his return at all, and for the first time In ages she realized that she might loose, she left the battle and her warrior In leave for more Important business. When Cain asked for the dark queens aid he suddenly felt that she was gone, and so was the power of his spells Seifer he could take down but where was the others ? he suddenly realized that the dragon helmet was not so good to use In fight's like this one It made It harder to look to the sides he swung 'darkness' while trying to pull the helmet off suddenly Seifer seemed to be right In front of him before he could react Seifer had lifted his sword and run It right through His stomach and a second later another gunblade come from the back right through his chest as he fell he was still trying to get the helmet off then It all went black for Cain. The comrades slowly got up on their feet everyone seemed to be unhurt. "Well, time to go home I guess" Seifer said "We'll have to get back to Laguna and the others first" Squall said "Alright, Pai, what about you ?" Seifer wondered "I'm going to stay here someone has to get rid of the undeads and get this world back on It's feet" "You sure you don't want to come with us ?" Seifer said. "some day I'll come and visit Seifer I promise" "Alright" Seifer said trying to keep his voice steady "I'll See you later then". Pai took off In one direction after showing them how to use the locket and they went the other one, back to Laguna, Kiros, Ward and their own world. One week later "I wonder how long Seifer will be like this" Rinoa said to Quistis and Selphie "He's been down ever since we got back" "I bet he had a crush on that Pai" Selphie giggeled. "He'll get over It" Quistis said "someday" Just then, over the air you could hear : Zell Dincht you are a chicken - Wuss I repeat Zell Dincht you are a chicken - wuss !!! The three girls looked at each other and then burst out laughing.
