Chapter 1 
From the heart... 
It was raining hard. Very hard. So hard that all the trees and bushes could 
not be seen. Rinoa had spent the day in Irvines room, pondering. Irvine 
didn't know this. Neither did Squall. Rinoa shuffled from under the bed to 
see how the dinner was doing. She had made Irvine his favourite for a 
Valentines dinner. 'Man, I hope he likes it' Rinoa thought. Ever since Ollie 
came in, Squall had completely gone off Rinoa. Ollie was a 16 year - old 
teenage girl who was all that, and more... 
So Rinoa clung on to Irvine for support, not that he knew or anything. 
'There!' Rinoa thought as she finished. It was a roast BiteBug, with sour 
cream and parsley. He also loved potatoes, mashed potatoes (with cheese) 
Rinoa put this on the table and crouched, and slid under the bed again. Just 
as she made herself comfortable, the lock turned, and Irvine waltzed in, then 
stopped dead. A roast BiteBug was there, with mashed potatoes, cheese and 
parsley. Rinoa quickly imagined herself into the bedroom, and then imagined 
herself into her pearl dress and then she walked out to Irvine and said 
"Happy Valentines day Irvine!" She smiled her 'I-can-get-away-with-things' 
smile, and Irvine smiled back "Thank you Rinoa, but how did you get here" 
"Oh, well I sto..." 
Rinoa didn't get to finish because a loud earthquake shook the mansion. 
Before they knew it, they were blasted out the window and were hovering in 
mid - air outside, in the pouring rain. Then a figure appeared before them, 
someone they swore they never see again... Ultimacia, the Sorceress who 
lived... 
"So Sorceress of this time, how do you find things, I want my power back 
now!!" Rinoa and Irvine were stunned, they couldn't believe their eyes. 
Rinoa, just to make sure they weren't seeing things, she did a quick 'roll' 
spell. Yep. It was true. Ultimacia was back, because 'roll' made your vision 
clear, if you thought you were seeing things. Ultimacia still had a little 
bit of power left. To get the rest of her power back, she used the rest of 
her power to freeze Irvine in time so he couldn't do anything. He fell to the 
ground, as if in stone. 
"Hey, what happened to your boyfriend?, is he suffering? HAHAHA AAAAAA!!!" 
Ultimacia cackled. Rinoa, trying to think of a spell to stop her, was stopped 
by Ultimacia again "There is no point in trying to stop me, before you know 
it, you will be in the same position as him HAHAHA AAAAAA!!" Rinoa suddenly 
realised she was back on her feet again. Then she heard footsteps. A sword 
and a small dagger appeared. Squall and Ollie ran into view, prepared for 
anything that was coming their way. They, too, stopped dead as Irvine had 
done previously. "Sweet mother of..." Squall had started. He got ready for a 
Renuzkoken when... 
"Pleased to see me son...?"
