Final Fantasy 8: Afterwards (part 1) By: Jessica Davis Oh and anything in italics (like this sentence) means that this is what someone is thinking *It's been almost 2 weeks since Squall and the others had defeated Ulticmia and stopped time compression.* Rinoa woke up really early this morning before the sun was even up, wondering about Squall. So she decided to go check on him. Yawn... I hope Squall doesn't mind me coming in his room to check on him. She thought to herself as she walked down the halls of Garden. When she got to his room she saw that Squall was perfectly fine and sleeping. Aww he looks so cute when he's sleeping! Rinoa decided that she would just sleep with him he for the rest of the night, so she wouldn't have to be worrying about him. Squall rolled over opening his eyes ever so slightly. "Rinoa is that you?" "Yeah, sweetie it is." "Alright." Squall said as he went back to sleep. Later that day when the sun was actually out, Squall woke and to his surprise Rinoa was sleeping next to him. Rinoa? Sleeping with me? When did she come in here? "Hey wake up sleepy head." Squall said kissing Rinoa's cheek. "Hmmm.hey baby. Do you remember coming in here last night checking on you?" "No not really." Why would she be checking on me?? "Umm.. Why would you be checking on me darling??" Squall asked. "Oh. I just keep having this terrible dream that you're hurt, so I came in to check on you. I decided to stay in here, so then I wouldn't worry!" Rinoa said in a worried voice. "Oh well if it would make you feel any better you can just stay in my room now. So then you wouldn't have to worry!" "Oh Squall you're the best!! Thanks so much for understanding!! Are you sure don't mind me staying in her with you ?" "Are you kidding! I would love you to stay in here with me and keep me company!" I hope that didn't come out the wrong way. "Oh! Ok." Rinoa said in a sorta surprised voice. " Well, shall we get going to breakfast my princess? The others are probably already down there." "Oh yes! My knight!!" hehe I love calling Squall my knight. Rinoa thought to herself as her and Squall walked hand-in-hand tot he cafeteria.I wonder what they others will think when they find out that me and Squall we'll be sleeping the same room. I hope Quintis doesn't get to mad. Oh what if everyone gets the wrong idea!! Hehe that would be funny, though. "Sup Squall?" asked Zell shoving a hotdog in his mouth. "hey." Said Squall. "Hi-ya Rinoa!" "Hey Selphie!.Where's your man at? Rinoa asked sitting down in a chair next to Squall's. "Oh, Irvine, teehee he'll be here soon. He got up kinda late." Hey where's Quintis she isn't here either?! "Oh." "So Squall what are you guys going to do today? Anything really exciting?" asked Zell. "Uh.we're.. Umm.going to." " We're probably just going to hang out today.go for a walk. And go out for dinner!!!" Rinoa exclaimed finishing Squall's sentence. Hehe I hope Squall wants to go out to dinner tonight, cause he's going to! "Aww! That's so romantic!" Selphie said. I wish Irvine would take me out to dinner! "Where's my little women at?" Irvine asked while walking in. "I'm here!!" Selphie said running up to Irvine and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Hey guys, I'll catch you later! Irvine wants me to go somewhere with him!!" "Bye Selphie!!" "Well Squall should we go no our walk now?" "Sure, Rinoa." So I guess were going out to dinner. That's alright with me! Just me and Rinoa together. "So I'm taking you out to dinner tonight, huh?" "Yeah I guess!" Rinoa said kissing him no the cheek. As Squall and Rinoa continued their walk, Zell decided to go to the library to see how the girl with the pigtails was doing. "Hey Irvine." "Yeah Selphie?" "Where was Quintis this morning? She wasn't at breakfast. You think she's alright?? Selphie asked Irvine in a worried voice. "Yeah, she's probably alright. We can go check on her if it would make you feel any better." "Really? You would go check on her with me ?" "Of coarse babe! Irvine said with a smirk. "Oh puh-lease!!" Selphie said laughing. While Selphie and Irvine were on there way to go see if Quintis was alright, Quintis was just getting ready to see what the others were doing. I can't stay in here forever. She thought to herself. I mean Rinoa and Squall live on Garden, I'm going to see them even if I don't want to. As Quintis was shutting her door and turning around, Selphie ran right into her! They both fell right onto the ground. While Irvine was standing there laughing. "Oh my!!! I'm so sorry Quintis! I didn't see you there!" "Haha! That's alright!" " Oh my! Ladies are you alright?" Irvine said laughing. "Yes! But will you help us up now?" Selphie said pulling on him. "Ok.Ok, I'm helping!" he said. "So Quintis where were this morning ?" Selphie asked. "Oh me ? I was in my room." Rather have been alone then being jealous. "Why didn't you come and eat with us ?! I was really worried that something had happen to you!" Selphie explained. "Umm.. I.umm. didn't feel like watching Rinoa and Squall flirt. They're so happy together. and. I'm trying really hard to get over him. I don't want to be the reason for a fight. or something. So I decided that I would just be. alone. this morning instead." Goodness there's so many guys out there! Get over him!! "Aww Quisty you still like Irvine?" "Yeah.it's just so hard! Ever since he first came to Balamb I've like him. Then when I saw them two dancing at the seed graduation party, something inside me told me that you're totally out of the picture." I guess I was right too.they're in love now. " Awww Quintis I'm so sorry! I know how much you liked him! That must really be a major bummer! Hey how about me, you, and Irvine all go out tonight! We can just hang out and have fun!" "Alright Selphie that sounds good! Maybe it will take my mind off Squall too." Doubt that though. "Alright we're going to PAR-TAY!! Oh yeah!!" yelled Selphie in an excited voice. "Tonight Quintis you are going to have fun! And hopefully you'll meet some guys too!" said Irvine with a smile. "Ha! I'll have fun!! But I doubt that I will see any guys." "Come on Quintis lets go get ready for tonight!! Irvine we'll meet you up at the front gate in a hour and a half.ok?" "Alright Selphie! Bye Quintis! Bye Selphie!!" (Meanwhile in Squall's room) "So Squall where are we going to go eat dinner at?" "Umm.I was thinking that really nice restaurant in Deiling City..does that sound alright with you ?" "Yeah!! That sounds great Squall! Ok, well I'm going to go get ready.." "Ok. I'll come to your room in about 45 minutes.ok?" asked Squall. "Yes...that's sounds fine!" Rinoa said then she gave him a kiss and left his room. As Rinoa walked back to her room she thought if dinner would be a good time to talk about some of the things she wanted to talk to him about. Better talk to him about the powers I have from becoming a sorceress.and when Cid sends them a seeD mission what I'm I supposed to.and what about Watts and Zone! I'm going to have to visit them! (Meanwhile with Zell and the pigtail girl.) Zell and her were just discussing what they were going to go do that night. "Hey you want go fight some monsters! I can show you all the moves I can do!" "Oh Zell I would love to see all the moves you can do! I know how good a fighter you are.but would you rather go and do something more romantic?" she asked. Hmm.me go do something romantic! Well I guess that wouldn't be to bad. "Sure.we can go do something romantic!" Zell said. "Great! Would you want to go take a walk no the beach near that lighthouse?" Oh! Near the lighthouse.walk along the beach?.doesn't sound like something I would do.but. it is her. "Yeah that sounds like fun." "Oh yay!! Zell you're the best! Well we better get going it's going to get dark really soon!" "Oh right. better get going." He said not sure of what to do when they got there. "Ok you already, Quintis?" "Ready! Lets go!" "Yippee we're going to party!!" yelled Selphie. As the two of them were walking they decided to bet if Irvine would be there on time or be extremely late. "He'll be late.he's always late!" "I don't know Selphie I think Irvine just might be there on time!" As they reached the gate they saw Irvine standing there smiling. "My ladies you look very nice tonight!" "Thank you Irvine." "TeeHee! Yeah thanks Irvine!" said Selphie blushing. "Ok let's get outta here! Deiling City here we come! Knock. Knock. "Come in!" Rinoa said as she looked in the mirror one last time to make sure that she looked alright. "Hey babe!" she said. "Hey. You look really pretty tonight! Squall said smiling. "Oh thanks! You like the dress!? Doesn't it look filmier? Oh that's the dress she wore when you first met! "Yes. It's the dress you wore when we danced." He said. "Yep!! Hehe you look very nice tonight Squall!!" Rinoa said making Squall blush alittle. "Well shall we go my princess?" "Yes my knight we shall! Hehe!" That's the end of part 1 !!
