Please remember to mail me with ideas/comments/suggestions at fortunecookieluver@hotmail.com Part 2- Destiny reveled As Squall, Rinoa, Zell and new friend Derrik fought through the endless battle of monsters, Laguna Lorie was sitting comfortibly in his chair, looking at his wonderful contenent. His peaceful thinking was interupted by a loud "AHEM" behind him. He turned the chair around and faced Dr. Odine. "Hello, Dr. What's up?" "I haves something interesting to tell you. My 'Sorceress Magnet' is picking up something," he said in his usual funny voice. Laguna stood up and stretched. "It's probably just Rinoa." "Not unless Rinoa has a lot of dark powers and is floating near the water..." "I'll try to get into contact with Squall. He's probably in Garden." After a phone call to Garden and an "oh." and "ok." and "thanks." he hung up the phone. "I guess it's not Rinoa. She is in Timber, on a mission with Squall and Zell. That was Selphie. She said that she and Quistis and Irvine would be also leaving to go to Timber, but could drop by quick on the Ragnarok. I told her about the signal." -Meanwhile- "Whoa! I wonder how so many monsters could invade Timber!" Zell yelled as he killed a Grendle. "I don't know either. Squall, I'm gonna go and find Watts and Zone. I have to see if they are alright-" Rinoa was cut off as a Ruby Dragon knocked her to the ground. She got up quickly and although she was weak, used her limit break with Angelo: Wishing Star. The attack killed it and Derrik was slightly nervous. 'What if I can't deal with them?' He thought. Then he got a brain message from his Sorceress. 'I need more time. Keep them busy until I contact you again.' "Hey Squall! I know a place where we can rest up. Why don't we go there?" Derrik suggested. "We need to stock up on healing items, and I need to eat something." "Alright. Lead the way!" Squall shouted as he slashed his Lionheart against a rather ugly dragon. -Meanwhile- Selphie, Irvine, and Quistis walked into the presidental palace to find Laguna and Odine, and discuss the unusual signal that was being picked up. After they were all seated comfortibly in a large room, Odine began to talk. "I believe that another Sorceress is here. Of course, we know it cannot be from the furture as we killed Ultimecia. In fact, I believe it is a Sorceress from the past. Ultimecia is the last in a long line of decendents. So, with Ellone's help, I think that we should either go and kill the sorceress head on, or, go back in time and kill all sorceresses. Of course, if that happens, Rinoa will lose her powers, and uh...well..." "And what?" Quistis asked. "And might die. You see, Rinoa has become attached to her powers, not emotionally but physically. Her body has become used to these powers. They are a part of her now. Rinoa is in extreme danger. A number of things could happen to her..." "Like what?" Selphie said. "Like losing all her powers. That will happen for certain. She might die. She could become possesed. She might become very ill. Or..." A shiver ran down Odine's spine. "Or she might decide to finish off this Sorceress' plan." "And how do we exactly prevent any of this?" Irvine asked. "We cannot stop her from losing her powers. But, if we can prevent Rinoa from being near the Sorceress, then she will not become possesed. Therefore, she might not become brainwashed and finish off the plan." "So, we keep Rinny away from the Sorceress...Wait! I have an idea! Rinny should be near the sorceress!" Selphie squealed. "WHAT?" Quistis and Irvine said together. "What do you have in mind?" asked Laguna. "A dying Sorceress must pass on her powers. So, if Rinoa's there, she will get this Sorceress' powers. She can't get ill or die that way!" "Good idea, Selphie!" Quistis cheered. "But, wait a minute!" said Odine, alarmed. "Rinoa will be granted extreme amounts of powers. Don't forget, she already carries her own. She'll be fine, but will be weak for a few days." "Well, thats fine!" Laguna said. "But, Rinoa has to decide if she wants to recive more powers." "And, don't forget," said Quistis, "Rinoa hates being a Sorceress. I'm not so sure that she will be happy about it but I know that she'll accept. And I know she will because she'll just feel pressured to do so." Selphie looked down. Irvine looked away. Quistis was very quiet. "Damn...why does something bad always have to happen?" Irvine said, angered. "Well, we better get to Timber and talk to the others," Selphie said, getting up and streching. "Right. Lets go!" -Meanwhile- Squall sat down on the sturdy wooden chair in the empty home. "How'd you find the place, Derrik?"asked Rinoa, streching. "This used to be where my buddies and I hung out when we skipped school. I just come here when I need peace and quiet." "Well, it's great!" Zell shouted from upstairs, punching a punching bag. "I wonder where the others are..." Squall said slowly. "I bet their coming soon. Maybe they are already here, and looking for us," Rinoa suggested. "Lets go look for them, then. We can't wipe out all these monsters by ourselves." As the four walked outside, everything was quiet. "Hey, were did the monsters go?" Zell asked. "I don't know but this is weird," Derrik said. They went to the front entrence and Squall looked out. "There they are!" he exclaimed. Selphie, Irvine, and Quistis ran up to them, and Irvine asked Derrik, "Who are you?" "I'm Derrik. I am helping out in this situation." "We need to tell you guys something, but not here.." Selphie said. "Lets go into the Ragnarok. Selphie will take us back to Balamb Garden. No doubt Proffeser Cid will want to talk to you," Squall said to Derrik. They went into the Ragnarok and Selphie, Quistis, and Irvine told the others about the signal and what had to be done. When they finished everybody looked to Rinoa. She slowly walked over to the elevator and went down. "Poor girl..." Derrik said softly. Inside, he was laughing at her pain. Squall didn't say anything, but followed Rinoa. He looked for her and found her. "Rinoa...you don't have to..." Squall began, but Rinoa interupted. "Yeah, I do. And you know it. I-I hate being a..." Squall walked over to her and held her. "It's ok...I'll protect you..." Squall said softly, knowing Rinoa thought nobody would want to be near her if she was a Sorceress. He knew that her reciving more powers would make her think people would be even more afraid, especially if she had recived them from a evil Sorceress. Rinoa sniffled. "It's not only that...I didn't wanna tell you but..." "But what?" "I keep having this dream. I knew this was gonna happen. But...I see you! We lose the battle, and she kills you! You die to save me!" Rinoa broke down completely. "Every night I wake up. I get so sick...I can feel the darkness. I'm so scared..." Squall's grip tightened. "I love you Rinoa. Please don't worry anymore... I swear I'll be ok, and I'll protect you..." About 20 minutes later, Rinoa and Squall went back to the rest of the group. "I've...I've decided to do it. I will recive her powers..." There was silence. Selphie put the Ragnarok into auto-pilot and ran over to Rinoa and gave her a big hug. Quistis did the same. "Guys, I want to know more about this Sorceress," Zell said. "Like where does she come from? Whats her name? Who is her knight?" "Why don't we go and talk to Matron?" Squall suggested. "Or Dr. Odine?" Quistis said. "Alright then. Me, Rinoa, Zell, and Derrik will go and see Odine. Selphie, Irvine, and Quistis; you guys will go see Matron. We'll meet at the Quad in Garden," Squall said. 'Hmmm...Interesting.' Derrik thought. Selphie, Quistis, and Irvine were dropped off at Matron's old orphanage. The house was re-built and was now large and well furnished. It was beautiful. Selphie knocked on the door. After a few seconds, a beautiful black haired woman came to the door. "Selphie! Quistis! Irvine! How wonderful to see you!" She cried in her soft voice. She invited them inside. "Come! Have you had lunch yet? Want some tea?" Matron usually fussed over them. "Yes please, Matron. We also came to talk to you as well," Quistis said. After Matron provided chicken, lemonade, bread, and potato salad, they sat down to eat and to talk. "So, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?" Matron asked. "Irvine, I insist you have more potato salad..." Irvine helped himself to more. "Dr. Odine picked up a signal on his Sorceress Magnet. A sorceress in the past has come. Odine says that it isn't a usual signal, that it is full of dark powers." A worried look crossed Matron's face. "We wanted to know more about it," said Quistis. "I mean the Sorceress." 'Good thing Rinoa wasn't hear when she said that,' thought Selphie. 'Rinoa would be so mad if Quistis ever called a sorceress a "thing".' Matron poured more Lemonade into Quistis' glass. "There are many desendents of Rinoa and Ultimecia. Hmmm...we killed Adel, Rinoa was next descendent, and then Ultimecia..." Matron paused, thinking. "I think the next after me was Sorceress Trenta." "Tell us more," Selphie said as Matron heaped Selphie's plate with chicken. Matron sat down. "Sorceress Trenta was the evilest out of all of the past Sorceresses. She wanted to wipe out the entire land, and kill everybody except for her knight. She wanted to create a perfect kingdom, and make herself and her knight immortal. That way, you see, she could create monsters, and never be killed." "What was her knight's name?" Selphie asked. "I don't know. The Sorceress Memoiral has lots of files...you could go there and take a look for more information. Anyways, Trenta couldn't be defeated. She became very angry, because of two reasons. One, she couldn't create her perfect kingdom, and two, she found the SeeDs that kept trying to defeat her extremly annoying. So she just killed any SeeD or person that set foot in her castle." "Whoa. Pretty evil," Irvine said, munching for some chicken. "Yes, she was. She was never defeated, and gave birth to a daughter. Adel." "And then what happened?" Selphie asked. "Well, she was never killed. Thats why she could transport herself to our time. She is extremly powerful, and her knight is very smart. He is very strong, and although he is evil he wears a well made mask." "What do you mean by that?" asked Irvine. "She means that he hides who he is very well. He could be the person walking down the street, and you'd never know," said Quistis. "Thats right. I don't know anymore about her or her knight. So, I really think you should go to the Sorceress Memorial to find out more information," Matron said. "Now, how about dessert?" -Meanwhile- Squall sighed. "What's the matter, Squall?" asked Zell. "Nothing really. It's just that I find Odine very...annoying. I doubt he'll be able to tell us much." "Well, it's worth a shot," said Rinoa. Although she didn't want to accept these powers, she wanted to know more about whose powers she would be accepting. Odine came into the room where they were waiting. "We are ready for you, now!" He exclaimed. He led them into a room with a large screen. "I am guessing you want to know more about this Sorceress, correct?" He asked. "Yes, and we're in a hurry, so please just hurry up," Zell said. He never did have much paitience. "You, my dear get the seat of honour," Odine said to Rinoa. Rinoa looked at Squall, worried. "What did you do to the chair, Odine?" Squall demanded, towering over Odine. Odine cowered. "Just let me do a little experiment on the girl! Pleaseeee?" "No. Now tell us the information we want to know." Odine grumbled. "I give you what I want but get nothing in return..." Odine began to talk to them about the Sorceress, telling them her name was Sorceress Trenta, and she was strong, powerful, brave, and very evil. After a long talk, he told them that he knew nothing more. Sighing, they left. They wanted to get to Garden as soon as possible, to discuss the findings that they had had, as well what Selphie, Irvine, and Quistis had. Rinoa, Squall, Zell, and Derrik entered Garden. Proffeser Cid walked up to them. Squall knew at once he was waiting for them. "Hello, Squall, Zell, Rinoa. How was the mission?" "It was fine. I'd like to introduce you to Derrik. We met him in Timber. He helped us deal with some monsters," Squall said. "I don't mean to be rude, but I must leave," Derrik said, already walking towards the door. "I'll come back tomorrow, and we can figure out whats happening." And he left. 'I find that werid...why didn't he leave before we go to garden?' Thought Zell. 'I never liked him from the beginning...' "Headmaster, we need to report what we have found out to the others. May I have permission to give my report later on?" Squall asked. "Yes. I'll call you up tomorow morning," said Cid, and he left back to his office. Squall, Zell, and Rinoa ran to the Quad where they found Selphie and the other two. They discussed what had happened, and decided that they would go to the Sorceress Memorial the next day. Rinoa said that she didn't want to go with them, and had to teach a class about Sorceress' and why SeeDs are important. Although Squall knew it was true, he knew Rinoa was just using it as an excuse. "Alright. Tomorow, be ready at 10:00 am. We are going to the Sorceress Memorial!" Ok, that ends the second part.
