Hi, this is my fan fic, I am new at this so any complements or insults send them to PJ_sweet@fantasysquare.com The Stranger The rain pelted down on the plains of Balamb and lightning streaked the sky. A solitary figure of a man about 19 staggered towards the large building that is Balamb Garden. His clothes were torn and blood poured out of a gash on his left arm. He dragged a long gun blade behind him, the blade was stained red with the blood of monsters, an Eagle was engraved on the handle. "I love thunder storms!" Said Selphie cuddling close to Irvine. They were sitting under the arch over the turnstiles of Balamb Garden watching the storm. "So do I, but not as much as I love you." Said Irvine gazing into Selphie's huge green eyes. "Ahhh, that's so sweet." Said a voice from behind them. They both turned to see Zell standing behind them. "What are you doing here Zell?" Asked Irvine slightly pissed that Zell had spoiled his and Selphie's moment. "I saw something moving towards the garden. I wanted to see what it. Look there it is!" They all turned to where Zell was pointing. The figure stood in the archway. He was about 5'10 with long, dark brown hair, his eyes were no set colour, they were a mix of blue, green and brown. He stood there breathing heavily until Irvine decided to say, "Who are you?" The stranger took a step forward and raised his gun blade. Irvine jumped in front of Selphie and Zell dropped into a fighting stance, but all the stranger did was say, "Help me." And then collapse on the floor. The three SeeD's stood for a while wondering what to do with the stranger, then Selphie noticed the blood running across the floor, "Quick, he's bleeding! Get him to the infirmary!" Zell walked over to him, picked him up and carried him over his shoulder to the infirmary. Irvine followed with Selphie hot on his heels. Nobody noticed the blood stained gun blade lying next to the pool of blood the stranger left. Once they had gone a lady dressed in white with long blond hair and huge white wings approached the gun blade. The rainwater did not touch her, she just walked up to the gun blade and picked it up. She looked up at Balamb garden and faded out. The stranger lay on a bed in the infirmary surrounded by Zell, Irvine and Selphie. "What's going on here?" Said Squall as he entered the infirmary followed by Rinoa and Quistis. "We found him walking towards the garden, he passed out at the gates." Said Selphie, "Look he's waking up!" The stranger began to open his eyes. He looked around him. He looked at the six friends staring down at him, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" demanded Squall. The stranger looked up at him and began to laugh, "Straight to the point, just like a workaholic SeeD." He said. Squall seemed shocked by this, those were the words his father Laguna Lore had said to him before they attacked Lunatic Pandora, "I am Kerrick, Kerrick Eaglewing. Adopted son of Laguna Lore." The stranger finished. Everyone gasped and looked at Squall. Squall looked at Kerrick and said, "Laguna Lore has no adopted son, I am his only son." "That maybe so Squall, but you do not behave like it." "My father abandoned me and my mother before I was born." "That is also true, and myself I don't blame you for hating him, but he took me in and raised me as his own when I was orphaned." "You're an orphan to?" Said Zell, "So are we, except Rinoa here." "Yes I am an orphan but unlike you I knew my parents and I had to cope with seeing their burnt body's carried out of the charred remains of my house as I returned from yet another day of my search." "Wow, that sucks." "Just a bit Zell." "How do you know all our names any way?" Said Selphie. "I know your names cuz I was there when you attacked Lunatic Pandora, I was the one who killed all the guards for Laguna and Elone to get in after you lot had killed Adeal." "So that's how they got to us so quickly." Said Zell. "Well now we know who you are, tell us what you want." Said Squall changing his tone of voice from harsh too sincere. "I am here to ask for your help." "Help? For what?" It was 9 years ago. I lived in a small village just outside Tears Point. My closest friend was a girl named Angel. She lived two doors down from me and though I didn't show it I was madly in love with her." "You were a bit young to be in love." Said Quistis not believing Kerrick's story. "My dear Quistis, you your self should know that you are never to young to fall in love, Irvine also knows that." "How the hell do you know so much about us?" Said Selphie starting to sound a little scared. "Haha, there's no need to worry Selphie. Ellone has told me all this. She lives in the Presidential Palace too remember?" "Oh yeah." Said Selphie slightly embarrassed "Well any way, back to my story. I was in love with her and I did not show it. One day when I was ten and she was nine, I was walking down the street to see if she was in. But when I got to her house I found the door smashed in. I entered the house and I will never forget what I saw. Angel's mother and father lay dead and full off bullet holes. It was a very disturbing site for a boy of ten. I searched the house for Angel with tears in my eyes, but I couldn't find her. I ran back to my house crying my little heart out." "That is so sad." Said Selphie wiping a tear from the corner of her eye and burying her head in Irvine's chest. "What did you do then?" Asked Rinoa also trying to hold back the tears and failing. Squall noticed this and held her close to comfort her. "After they boarded up Angel's house and called off the search for Angel I went up to my attic and opened my fathers old box of memories as he called it. Inside was my grandfather's old gun blade and ring. His name was also Kerrick Eaglewing, it was him I was named after. I took the blade and the ring and with out my parents knowing I trained every night and became very good with the blade. I was eleven when my search began." "You mean you have been searching for Angel for eight years! You must really love her man." Said Zell admiring his bravery. "Yes, I refused to believe she was dead. I searched every day for a year but I found nothing. One day when I was twelve, I was returning home from my search and I saw what I have just told you. My hose was destroyed and my parents burned to death. That's when I decided to join the army." "Which army?" Asked Squall. "Don't worry, it wasn't the Galabadian army. It was the Estharian. Being only twelve I was the youngest there and I was picked on a lot because I was the smallest, I never made any friends. I still continued my training because I had no family and it was the only way I could search the world for Angel." "Kerrick, you have to be the bravest guy I know." Said Zell in admiration. "Thanks Zell. Well one day we got a message that President Laguna Lore was visiting our barracks. When he arrived we all had to stand in a line in our cadet uniforms for inspection. I was at the end of the line and as he neared the end where I was standing the boy next to me kicked me in the back of my legs. I fell to the floor and was picked up roughly by our instructor and he hit me with is baton. I caught me on the side of my head and I started to bleed and cry. The other boys just laughed at me. Laguna noticed this and stopped the instructor from hitting me again and told him to pack up my stuff and have it taken to his car, he said he was taking me out of the army and that his platoon was a shambles. I insisted that I pack my own things because in knew that if someone else packed my things they would take my gun blade and ring, my most prized possessions. Laguna quickly adopted me and we became legally father and son. And every day I search for Angel." "If you're the adopted son of the president of Esthar, why don't you just have the army look for Angel." Said Irvine. "Because I never told Laguna about Angel or my quest to find her. The only person I told was Ellone. She tried to contact Angel but there was something blocking her message, some kind of barrier. Hey, did anyone pick up my gun blade?" Zell looked at Irvine who looked at Selphie who looked at the floor. "Uhh, no sorry." Said Selphie shuffling her feet. "Don't worry, Radiant will probably bring it to me later." "Who's Radiant?" Asked Quistis. "I'll explain more about her later, please I need rest." "Come on guys, lets go." Said Zell. He walked out of the infirmary followed by the others. Later, when everyone had returned to their dorms, Rinoa lay on her bed and thought about what had just happened. She sensed something very powerful in Kerrick. She sensed that there was a sorceress in him, but not an ordinary sorceress. She didn't quite know what it was. She decided to talk to him in the morning. Meanwhile in the infirmary, Kerrick lay on his bed sleeping. As he slept a woman dressed in white approached his bedside, she placed his gun blade by his side, and she then kissed his forehead. His body began to glow with a faint white light, the gash on his arm closed up and every cut on his body healed. Once he had healed she said, "Angel needs you. She needs to meet her sister. Together they will bring peace to the world." With that she faded out leaving the sleeping Kerrick to his dreames of his Angel. To Be Continued. Well there's part one, hope you liked it.
