Chapter VIII: The truth
“We’re almost there” Zidane said as he dashed through the castle entrance with the others. 
They went some steps further inside but suddenly stopped.
“What…? I… I… Can’t believe… this…” Shouted Steiner.
“Who could have done this!?” Shouted Zidane.
“Who could have beaten the whole army of Alexandria!?” Asked Beatrix.
“This is not happening… I am sorry! I should have been here earlier. If I had, this wouldn’t 
have happened!” Steiner shouted.
“Darling…” Beatrix said softly.
“Mwahahahahaha! You fools! Thought you could protect the castle?” Shouted a mysterious 
voice.
“Who is that!?” Dagger asked scared
“I am the dark substance, product of the hatred of souls in the universe!” The strange voice 
said eagerly “You ask for my name? I am Zero!”
“Zero? What kind of name is that?” Asked Beatrix as she looked everywhere trying to find 
the place where Zero hid.
“My name is given after the Zero World… The one you’ll go to later!” Shouted Zero
“Where you the one who killed the soldiers? Where you the one who ordered the attack to 
Alexandria? Answer you filthy scumbag!” Steiner shouted
“The attack to Alexandria wan not my order… It was this lady’s.” Said Zero as a person 
started walking towards Dagger.
“P-Princess Garnet?” Steiner said
The woman-like figure walked forward to where the others could see her… She was 
exactly like Dagger.
“You stupid idiots, did you really think I was dead?” The princess said “Hi, sister”
“What is this? I have no sister!” Shouted Dagger.
“Sarah, don’t be a fool, we both know what happened, you no longer need to hide it, come 
with me, and we can rule the world together!” Shouted Garnet.
“Stop, I told you I don’t have nothing to do with you, please leave us alone!” Dagger said.
“Could it really be that you forgot? Don’t you remember me? Your dearest sister?” Garnet 
said
“No!” Shouted Dagger
“… Fine, then. Say good-bye to your friends…” Garnet said as she started to summon an 
eidolon.
“What is happening here?” Asked Zidane confused.
“Miss Dagger, it’s true, that woman who stands in front of us… is your sister.” Steiner said.
“Wha…!? Adelbert Steiner, stop your nonsense!” Dagger shouted angrily.
“Dagger… Steiner is right” Beatrix said “When you were found washed up in the harbor, it 
was when you were about 6 years old, another girl that was just like you, said her name was 
Garnet, and that you were Sarah, she also said you were twins. After that, she went with the 
queen and the king to be raised as if she was their own daughter. Some months passed and 
she went to Evil Forest alone. She said she was going to stay there forever because of an 
argument with the king. She never came back and as you were recovering from your 
wounds, the queen adopted you. Since then, you remember what happened…”
“Will that knowledge help you?” Asked Garnet.
“Princess… I will not hesitate to kill you if you hurt miss Dagger, my friends or any 
innocent person, if it is true that you ordered the attack to Alexandria, then you are my 
enemy, just like Kuja or Necron were!” Shouted Steiner.
“Dagger… My allegiance to you is still the same, if not stronger, I bow to protect you!” 
Shouted Beatrix.
“My love, let us stop Garnet before she can finish her summon.” Zidane said.
“It is too late… CRUSADER, come forth!” Shouted Garnet as three knights came dashing 
from the sky, destroying the castle’s ceiling. They attacked heavily and launched beams of 
holy energy all over the castle pulverizing everything. When the attack finished, everyone 
was too hurt to keep fighting, even Zero and Garnet.
“Garnet… We… we should better get out of here… before it is too late…” Zero said
“F-Fine… EXIT!” Said Garnet, and Zero and her disappeared from there.
“The castle… it… it is… destroyed” Dagger said before fainting.

Chapter IX: Moogle Wannabe
“…Mog?” Eiko said.
“Hahahahahaha! Do you like how I speak, Eiko?” Said Mog.
“What’s happening…? You… you never talked… I thought you became Madeen! Mog, 
explain me what’s with you!” Shouted Eiko
“Prepare to die, I’ll kill you with this Ribbon equipped, that will make you happy, won’t it, 
KUPO!?” Mog shouted.
“Mog? No, you are not Mog!” Shouted Eiko.
“No worry, I use Aqua Breath and kill bad moogle.” Quina said.
“No, wait, he has the Ribbon equipped, if you use water elemental attacks you will only 
heal him!” Shouted Eiko.
Quenj made a step forward and used Fire 4, a fire spiral went out of his hand and burnt the 
moogle that was standing a few meters from the party. Then Mog started to become bigger 
and bigger until he took the form of a two-headed monster with big, long tongues.
“What that? It scary!” Quina said as he used Lv 4 Holy making a lot of damage.
“How could you take my moogle’s form you insolent monster? I will make you pay!” 
Shouted Eiko as she casted Holy in one of the monster’s heads.
“Eiko, are you angry at me, kupo?” Asked the face.
“Shut up… I will not allow you to mimic my Mog. He is my best friend! Madeen, show 
him your power!” Eiko shouted as she summoned Madeen. The heads fell off and 
disappeared.
“Damn you…” Whispered Eiko “Thanks Mog…”
Quina, Quenj and Eiko kept going and revised all of Cleyra, and even split themselves to 
look for anyone, but they were all fighting Alexandria, they didn’t find anyone. They went 
back to the airship.

Chapter X: A Sad, Rainy Day
“Finally, we are in the palace…” Freya said as she dropped in the floor to get some air.
“Can you see anything up there?” Asked Lani
“I think there is someone in the floor… in that balcony over there…” Vivi said
“Do you think you can get up there?” Asked Amarant
“Only if I have the High Jump ability equipped…” Freya said as she put her Dragon Mail 
on “all is set, there I go…”
Freya jumped very high and got in the balcony just to find the king washed up in blood.
“Your highness… Who has done this to you?” Asked Freya
“It was… It was… Fratley…” Said the king before dying.
“No… sir Fratley couldn’t have done this. I can’t even think of sir Fratley killing the king 
of Burmecia who he has protected so much…” Freya said.
“Freya, come down here fast!” Shouted Amarant.
“I’m going” She said as she jumped back down
“How are you doing, darling?” Asked Fratley with a sinister voice.
“Oh, dearest, is it true that you killed the king?” Asked Freya.
“What?” Vivi said in confusion.
“Yes… and guess what? You’re the next!” Fratley said as he jumped to attack Freya with 
his spear. Amarant threw a Wing Edge and Fratley fell to the floor unable to attack Freya. 
He got up and used Flare in Lani, who fell off. Freya was shocked and couldn’t move, 
Amarant used Revive on Lani and Lani used Fira on Fratley. Fratley casted Absolute Death 
on Lani, she fell. Vivi used Break and Fratley got petrified unable to do anything else.
“Why? Fratley… Why did you do this to me?” Asked Freya crying.
“Amarant, it’s Lani!” Shouted Vivi.
“What’s wrong? Lani… is she ok?” Amarant asked.
“I may have missed, but when I used a Phoenix Down on her, she didn’t revive” Vivi said 
concerned “I’ll try again… nothing…”
“Revive!” Tried Amarant, but for no avail.
“Elixir!… Nothing… Phoenix Pinion… nothing”
“Lani…? You can’t… die yet… we have too much to do… you can’t die!!!! Shouted 
Amarant.
“She’s gone… I’m sorry… We should better go, we can revive her somehow, we will find 
a way… but now there is nothing we can do… perhaps Eiko or Beatrix can use Full-life 
and bring her back.” Vivi said “Freya… we must part…”
“But… I can’t live without my Fratley… I don’t understand why he did this…” Freya 
sighed in pain.
“…… I know… but we have to go with the others, he is only petrified, we can figure out 
what we can do with him later, we can close him up, then use a soft and make him tell us 
everything, but later” Vivi suggested
“…Okay… How’s Lani?” Freya asked.
“She is pale and doesn’t breathe…” Amarant answered
“Is she dead?” Freya asked.
“NO!” Shouted Amarant.
“Guys… we have to go…” Vivi said.
