The Four Orbs Chapter 1: Searching for silence Beholding the splendor of the spectacle waiting for an answer, he stould by, watching. Watching as a giant rock tried seamlessly to break a barrier of intervening green beams, and finally the big flash of light, and not once did the poor man blink, he just stould there waiting, waiting to die, waiting to live, waiting to see his fate. The whole scene was miles away, and from where he stould it just looked like an and off and on explosion of bright colors. He than watched as amazingly the bright lights faded away, and he realized that the apocalypse was thwarted, and shrugged the incident off stupidly, and continued his treck across the horribly scarred-looking Mt. Nibel on his chocobo, which instead of looking at the possible end, had decided to eat some shrubbery nearby. His chocobo was not fat, but for some reason it didn't like to run, which sometimes angered the man, but just like he does to everything, he shrugged it off. He did not like worry, or responsibility for that matter. He loved just looking and listening, and occasionally grunted or rarely talked to his chocobo, which was uncertain if the chocobo could even understand the man's foreign tongue. So he continued, marching on... "Damn, we have to land this son of a bitch!" the arrogant Cid replied, as he saw that the backside of the Highwind was almost totally gone, being hit by a couple of explosions, and he also saw that gas was leaking out of one of the propellers. Cloud just looked on, not really caring, just gave Cid a silent, "Do what you have to do." Tifa was right with him, looking down at a torn-up Midgar, with various fires spreading in some places. Tifa's crimson eyes traced the mass of destruction carefully, could even occasionally see some people who had somehow miraculously survived the wrath of the horrible red tornadoes that Meteor had spitted out angrily at Midgar. "So, looks like Midgar will be going through some renovation." Barret said, smiling. Red XII, standing next to him, actually laying on the floor next to him replied, "Hey, innocent people were lost in that city, dont make jokes." That shut Barret up. Cloud looked over at Red XII, nodded, and sat down in a chair in the cockpit. "Are you allright?" Tifa asked him. He gave her an emotionless, "Yes." Cid was in the very front about to land the Highwind at Kalm. "Here we go, this could get a little rough." Cid said with a smile. The Highwind came soaring down to the ground and landed actually very roughly, and came to a brief halt. Barret got the hell outta there. He was really starting to hate flying after what he had been thorugh. They all followed him "the hell outta there". On ground, they traveled to Kalm, which was only 15 minutes away. It looked so great, a nice peacful town, finally. But while others were in total bliss and peace, Cloud was unsettled thinking of many things: Aeris, and the wormhole he traveled through to finally kill Sephiroth. Was that an illusion? He didn't understand any of what happend after they finally destroyed Sephiroth. Was Sephiroth really the evil one, or Jenova? Why was Sephiroth an angel? He had to many questions but above them all, Aeris. Was that aeris who stopped meteor, or just Lifestream? He knew in the beginning times, back when there there used to be the four orbs, some very long time ago, that it was possible for Ressurection, but did Lifestream exist back than? He knew it probably did, but he didn't know. All he knew, and all he wanted to know, was if he could find those four orbs, could he revive someone from lifestream? He heard so many stories back in the beginning, from his grandmother, but one stould out. He always loved to hear the one that happend some 1,500-2,000 years ago, when Kefka had a small dictatorship over the land and was finally killed, and he remembered the three Goddess Staues, which could bring death, destruction, and doom to all the good who opposed it. He learned that after kefka was destroyed, the Goddess Statues disappeard, wand were blocked off by the bunch who saved the world from Kefka, and they sealed it off in a cave. Maybe the orbs were there too? He didn't know. But he knew he had to find out. And the first thing he thought of when he heard "cave" was Mt.Nibel. That would be a very good place to start. "Cloud, are you sure your allright?" Tifa cut in to his thoughts. cloud once again replied, "Yes, im fine." Tifa looked at him and than walked away. Cloud than walked over to Cid, and asked him, "How bad is the Highwind's condition?" Cid looked at him, surprised that he would ask that, and answered, "Pretty damn bad, but its possible it could fly." Cloud than nodded and asked, "Can we get to Mt.Nibel?" Cid looked at him and shook his head slowly, wondering if anything was wrong with him. "Yes....." Cloud told the whole crew his plan to look for the orbs. Red XII shrugged and said, "I guess I'll go. It will get boring just not doing anything, and it is for Aeris." Than Barret. "Damn right im gonig, if its for Aeris, and.." He continued his crap, and Cloud looked at Tifa. "Im going to stay here. Im pretty emotionally worn out, sorry Cloud." Cloud replied, "It's ok, Tifa." Looked over at Cait Sith. "I have nothing to lose except my body, which can always be repaired." Looked at Cid. "Well, you need an asshole to drive you there, so fine, im going."
