This is my first attempt at a proper story based on real people, not characters from games. A 15-year-old boy stirred in his sleep. The boy's name was Michael. The dream that he'd been having had haunted him every night since he was 5. He began to shake violently. He hadn't had a fit like this since he was 9. Suddenly, Michael stopped. Nothing happened for several minutes. Michael was awoken at 7:42am by his pet parrot, Ace. Ace, as usual, had started to squawk. Michael sleepily got up and drew the curtains. Ace still wouldn't shut up so Michael picked up a pillow and through it at him. The pillow hit Ace and he was sent flying. After having breakfast of a bowl of cereal, Michael desperately tried to remember what had happened in his nightmare. The only things he could piece together was a three-headed man named Dave and all he was talking about was a singer called Adam Ant, a band named Blur and someone called Shawn Michaels. It was horrible. It kept coming back to him. Michael thought that going to school would make it go away. On his way to school, his friends, 'Daniel the Spaniel' (named that because of his hair) and Daniel's girlfriend Carly Ann caught him up. Daniel was short, fat, and he told lies but because he was so generous everyone liked him. Carly was the same except for the lies. "Whuzzzzzzup" asked Daniel. "Yeah, what's the problem? You should be happy that its April fools day," Carly said. "Don't want to talk about it" No one spoke to him until they got to school. Sam, Michael's girlfriend, spotted Michael and ran over to him. At first she was happy to see him but her face changed to shock. "I thought you'd be pleased to see me" she said "But instead of that, all I get is a miserable face. I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I wasn't going to believe everything that Tim said about you and Alice, but that face must mean your guilty. I was wrong about you. You're nothing but a two-timing piece of scum. You're dumped" These words rang through Michael's head over and over again. 'What have I done to deserve this' he thought. He had forgotten about the nightmare because of what his ex-girlfriend had said. He didn't speak to anyone until the bell went for the end of school. After a day of Maths, English, double Science and finally History he was worn out. He went to get the bus home so he didn't have to see either Sam or Alice but unfortunately both of them had the same idea. Michael was the last person to get onto the bus and there was only two seats available, one next to Alice and one next to Sam. He didn't know what to do but Michael couldn't get off the bus because he'd already paid his fair. Alice smiled at him invitingly and Sam stared at him in disgust. He looked from one to another then back again. All of a sudden Michael's head filled with an ear-piercing screech and he fell to his knees shaking. Everyone on the bus thought it was a joke and but after he hadn't got back up some people became worried. "I hope he's ok," said a middle-aged-woman. "He's a kid that's messing around, that's all," said her friend. "You're probably right," said the first woman. Michael just lay there. Alice got up and looked towards the folded body, lying on the bus floor. She looked scared. Sam, on the other hand, just sat where she was, not moving to see if Michael was ok. A man that Michael, Sam nor Alice knew got up from his seat at the back of the bus and came over to see what had happened. The closer the man got to Michael, the more Michael shook until finally the man stood next to him. "Get away from him you freak," said Alice "You don't know Michael so you can't help him" The man just stared at Alice then, without warning, pushed her aside and picked up Michael. He walked to the back of the man and placed Michael on the seat. A few seconds later Michael began to, albeit slowly, open his eyes. He staggered to his feet but fell back into the chair. "Where am-" began Michael but he was cut off by the man. "You're a bus going home from school. Am I right in saying that your home address is ...err let me see ... 46 Kingley Close, Wickford, Essex, SS12 0EN?" "How... How did you know?" asked Michael. "All in good time, my child" remarked the man. This just freaked Michael out and he wanted to wake from 'this terrible nightmare'. By this time, everyone on the bus was watching what was happening. "You cannot do that as you are not asleep," The man said "I know about the nightmares you do have though. You should be warned that, Dave as you call him, will show NO MERCY" These words sent a chill down everyone's spine. Michael felt himself turn cold. Alice was no longer her bubbly self, but a lot more depressed. Sam, though she didn't want to admit it, felt a little sorry for Michael. Michael looked out of the window. This made him feel better until he saw what was outside. It was Ace. He flew alongside the bus for a little while. "Late you are," was the words the parrot said "Late you are" Michael, not feeling himself, asked someone else to close the window so he didn't have to hear the bird. "Don't you dare do that" squawked the bird. "Don't do thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaat" Ace's voice became quieter. They looked back to see what had happened. Ace had hit a lamppost. This made Michael feel a bit better. Sort of. The people on the bus stared at him. No one said a word until Michael got off the bus. When he did, the whole bus spoke at once as though someone had turned a switch on. When Michael got in, he flopped on his bed. Without knowing it, he drifted off to sleep. Trouble was, sleeping led to dreaming and dreaming led to Dave...
