=========================================== Final Fantasy 8 U.S Version Walkthrough on how to beat Ultimicia Version 1.0 By:Tom Degez TDEGEZ@YAHOO.COM WALKTHROUGH WRITTEN ON OCTOBER, 26, 1999 ======================================= ====== Intro: ====== OK, i'll run through everything I did in order to beat Ultimicia. before you go running into her chambers I have to tell you that you should have squall's level at 100 and the others (2 other members with Squall) over 75.) Ok here's the Pre-requisite: - Get Squall's Lion Heart that's a priority!! Here's how: - Get the Adamantine from changing the Minotaur Card into Adamantine - Get the Dragon Fangs from the Blue Dragon with Rare Item equipped, Ok get Rare Item from the GF Diablos and equip it. Then go to the north east of the map where the snow is and look for an elevated surface or mountains were you can land. Remember don't land on the ground land on "elevated surface" Basically land on the most north mountain you can and you should meet the Blue Dragon. - Convert the Pulse ammo from Energy Crystals - defeat the enemy Elnoyle with The Rare Item ability Elnoyle is the enemy that is identical to the boss you thought at Dollet on the Radar tower the big flying creature that use Storm Breath. Well you can meet him at Esthar after the Lunar Cry or in the Research lab after defeating Bahamut. - Get your levels over 75 just two of your favorite Characters Squall should be at 100 - Get all of your characters 9999HP by junctioning HP+20, +40 or +80 - Get the Bahamut card from defeating Bahamut and change his card into 100 mega elixirs (woo baby how sweet it is!!) - Equip Squall with Ultima on Strength so that his Strength equals 255 and place Meteor or Curaga on Health so that Squall gets a least over 9000 HP - Also give squall AUTO-HASTE from Cerberus so that he is always on Haste -make sure you have at least 10 Meltdowns, 10 dispels, 10 Hastes and 30 Auras you don't actually need these spells (Except for Aura) they just make the battle easier IF you wondering on how to get your levels high I suggest the Research lab in which you fight Bahamut in. Actually go deeper after you've defeated Bahamut and you build your levels there, they get up pretty fast. One final note before you go fight her, equip your Command Abilities as follows: Attack, Magic, GF and items don't worry about Draw you don't care about getting spells you just wanna end it now! ********************** * Ultimicia * ********************** ok, right down to business: - First of all, Ultimicia will choose three of your members from whom she wants to fight, now some people want to reset their game every time until they get the right characters but I am not patient enough for that. therefore, what you should do is: In her first form Ultimicia is basically weak, so kill off the unwanted characters, don't worry they will disapear and another character will take their place. Do this until you have your ideal group. Then cast haste on all of your characters (except for Squall since he is equipped with AUTO-HASTE. Then if you want to play it safe cast SHELL on everybody to protect you from her spells. In her first form Ultimicia will cast Double or triple, Maelstrom, quake, tornado, holy and stop to get rid of double and triple use dispel on her. Maelstrom is a spell that will cause some damage so use the MEGA ELIXIRS (you have 100 so go nuts) also use the MEGA ELIXIRS whenever you get hit even if its 1000 HP better safe than sorry. Oh and don't worry, MEGA ELIXIRS Heals everybody in the party and removes ANY ailments even if she uses Meltdown on you it will REMOVE the effect. Ok, to kill her off is simple: RENZOKUKEN!! cast Aura on squall and keep blasting away with the Limit breaks and use meltdown, this will help alot, eventually you will kill her. Beware she has 4 forms to kill off but they are all easy to deal with. REMEMBER MEGA ELIXIRS ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS FINAL FORM: In her final form Ultimicia will cast Hell's Judgement on you which will bring you down to 1 HP (that includes everybody) so counter that with MEGA ELIXIRS. Keep your health at full for this final battle because she tends to use Apocalypse which hits you with 6000-8000 HP but you should be safe if you have shell on and a good amount of health and that's pretty much it. If you've done all of this then you will find that she is a breeze to kill. But never get careless because even if you have Mega Elixirs she can easily kill you if you are too cocky, Heal yourself if you think you have too don't take chances in this battle. And don't worry about summoning GF, I never did Well then that's pretty much it, enjoy the looooong ending and don't turn your playstation off until the game says THE END trust me the ending is well done.
