His Defense, Evasion, and Attack are all higher without weapons or armor. He gets more attacks with better Accuracy without weapons as well. The downside is that they get a low defense value overall. They have very high HP, but they can still be knocked out by a single hit from a boss. One of the biggest disadvantages to having a Monk in your party is that he cannot use magic. He is a pure fighter type. When the Monk changes class he gains nothing but a cool new outfit and hair. « Back
