Final Fantasy - Easy Vs. Normal Mode

When the player begins a new game, they are asked to choose between Easy Mode and Normal Mode. For the most part, Normal Mode is a straight conversion of the original game. This mode is perfect for gamers who are looking for a challenge. Easy Mode has been changed to make the game easier and much more balanced.

Easy Mode requires about 40% less EXP to advance to each level. Also, the player may advance to level 99 while Normal Mode stops at level 50. The amount of MP your character receives also goes up. Most levels raise from 9 MP to 99 MP, which can make a drastic difference depending on what party you choose. Another perk of Easy Mode is that everything costs less. Most things are roughly 2/3 the price of Normal Mode.

Essentially these changes take hours off the time it times to battle foes for Gil and EXP. It also gives characters like the Black Mage and White Mage, who are behind the curve in Normal Mode, a fighting chance. These changes speed the game up considerably.

However, if the gamer wishes to unlock all the bonus features of the game, both modes must be played through. At the end of the game you will be given the option to save. After that a new game can be started in a different mode and new secrets can be unlocked by completing the new game.
