Final Fantasy 9

Bellow are some tips, tricks and secrets for Final Fantasy 9. If any of these don't work. Send Hyperblade an E-mail:

Ruby Secret
In the begining of the game when Baku explains the kidnaping mission. he will ask you a question about who you are going to kidnap, Garnet or Brahne. After you answer the question wrong 64 times, Ruby will storm into the room
Play Black Jack

You can play Black Jack while listening to the Crystal Theme. All you have to do is inout this code once you get to see the end screen after everything:
R2, L1, R2, R2, Up, X, Right, Circle, Down, Triangle, L2, R1, R2, L1, Square, Square.
At the second press of the Square button you should hear a sound as if you're using an item. Now press Start and you'll be able to play BlackJack at your will.

(Note: This code will not work if you try the short-cut-to-the-end method)

2 Player Battle

Two players can control your party members during combat. To do this just do the following:
-Go to Config
-Then go to battle control. Choose Custom.
-An extra menu should pop up
-This should list all the names of all the characters and beside each name, you can select whether you want controller 1 or 2 to control each individual character.
-Now during battle, a controller icon should appear with either 1 or 2. This indicated which player is controlling the character

(Note: This is only for Battle and nothing else)

Final Fantasy III Music
In order for this secret to work, you must have the following: Doga's Artifact and Une's Mirror. Both can be aquired by bidding at the Treno Auction house.
After The destruction of terra in Disk 4 and onwards, return to the Black Mage Village and examine the gamaphone at the inn. Now the background music will change to a beautiful melody taken from Final Fantasy III
Getting the Excalibur II
Reach the Terrace in Memoria within 12 hrs. If you suceed, you will encounter a boss fight here. After defeating the boss, quickly check the second pillar to the right. A "!" mark should apear above Zidane's head. This mark indicates the position of the sword Excalibur II. If however you exceed the timlimit, the "!" mark will disapear at once.
Quan's dwelling renioun Secret
After Kuja Destroys Alexandria in Disk III, head over to Quan's dwelling place.(Take Quina and Vivi in your party) Quina will start to day-dream about, you guessed it, "Food!". A conversation follows on the patio. You will meet a important person and learn some important things. After the event, Search the stopped clock for some "running shoes".
Legendary Synthesis Shop
In Memoria, you will reach an area where Quina thinks he is in the waters and he attempts to swim. After the scene, search the right side of the screen to find a hidden area amongst the coral. A mysterious voice asks you to leave at once because you have disturb his sleep. If yourefuse to leave you will fight Hades. He's quite deadly. Once you have defeated him, you will be able to gain access to the Legendary Synthesis Shop
Extra Scenes in Ending
After completing the Stellazzio quest, keep Cinna's Hammer in your inventory. Do not use this item in the Legendry Synthesis shop if you aquire the Shop. Now during the ending you will see an additional one minute of footage in the ending. U will find a difference between both if you look hard enough.

Submitted Tips:

Getting Steiner to level 99 (By Brian)
After Steiner and Marcus break out of the cage by swinging back and forth, you have the one time chance to get Steiner to level 99 easily. To do this, you need either the ring that absorbs ice attacks or the red sword for Steiner that absorbs hit points) or both, and a controller with rapid fire.

After leaving the cage, Steiner and Marcus will be chased around by the gaurds. If you move to the left side of the screen, before going up the ladder, stand still and the guards will keep coming forever. All you need to do is equip Steiner with the above items, and turn on autofire on the 'O' button, and spend a couple hours with a good book or something, and when you come back, Steiner will be level 99. At best leave the PS on overnight. You will also have 99 hi-potions and 99 mythril sword cards.

Note: It is best to let Marcus die so that Steiner geets all the experience... you can also let him level up, but he leaves you in about a minute and you never use him again.

Friendly monsters (By Aeris51443)
These are the locations and what they ask for, for finding the friendly
monsters in the game.

Brown Mu - Outside the Ice Cavern, around Dali - asks for Ore
White Ghost - Treno Area - asks for ore
LadyBug - Forest Outside Black Mage Village - Asks for 2 ore
Yeti - Bigger forest outside Maidan Sari - Asks for 3 Ore
Nymph - Near Cleyra, near Iifa tree - asks for ore (2 i think)
Jabberwock - Forest east of Olivert - Asks for Emerald
Feather Circle - Lost continent - asks for moonstone
Rainbow Gardua - forest above Gizmaluke's Grotto - asks for Lapis Lazuli
Yan - Forest on Vile Island - asks for Diamond

Easy money (By Terence)
When u first reach Dali, I recommend buying as many wrists as possible before moving on to Lindblum.

At Lindblum, synthesize the few steepled hats u have into cotton robes. Sell them and you get 2,000 Gil each.

Buy more steepled hats from Lindblum and synthesize the rest. With the money u have, buy another 99 hats.

When u are heading for Treno, stop by at Dali, and repeat the process if you wish.

Profit Margin
Syn. cost: 1000 Gil
Steepled Hat: 200 Gil
Wrist: 100 Gil
Sell Cotton Robe: 2000
