| Although little
has been revealed about the characters so far, it is know
that Marche and his friend Mewt live in modern day Ivalice
and have fallen into sad times. Marche's younger brother is
sick and confined to a wheelchair while Mewt's mother has
died, leaving her father a drunken and unemployed man. After
a snowball fight with some of the kids at their school, Mewt
reveals to his friends a book called Final Fantasy.
Desperately longing to escape their lives, the three pretend
to be knights in the book. Once the last page is turned, and
the kids go to bed for the night - they awake to find themselves
in the world of Final Fantasy. Marche desires to
return home, but the cost may be destroying his friends happiness
- a price which may be too high to pay. |
