Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Judgment System

The Queen of Ivalice sees to it that any laws the prince desires be placed upon the kingdom. These laws are upheld by the royal judges. The laws can be as silly as "Items Prohibited" to "No Actions Beginning with "A"". Any clan member who goes against the prince's wishes in battle suffers swift justice. The clan members who break the laws are either required to pay a heavy fine or be immediately imprisoned. Before you start a battle it is a good idea to check to see if any laws have been changed. A few hours into the game the player can begin collecting cards to create new laws or counteract those which are being enforced. These cards "Law Cards" are, thankfully, easy to find and can sometimes be used to your advantage. If an opponent has several magic users, try a "No Magic" card! - Just make sure you don't break the rule yourself! Judges are not always a bad thing, however, as they also award "Judge Points". Once a unit reaches it's ten point max, it may be able to do something powerful, like summon Divine Beast.
Some of the prince's laws carry heavier penalties then others. Royal judges issue yellow and red cards to rule breakers during battle. Yellow cards mean there will be a fine at the end of the battle. If a character is issued a red card, they are put in jail immediately after the battle is over.
For ever yellow card your clan members receive, you must pay a fine at the end of the fight. These fines can be taken in Gil, cards, stat penalties, for individual characters, loss of AP, and even loss of treasures you would have gained at the end of the battle!!
